Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:
Peter Goetz, Center Director
Peter is from Chicago but has called California home for the past 4 years and doesn't miss the cold at all. He loves helping kids succeed in math and seeing their confidence improve as they work with our awesome instructors. When he isn't at Mathnasium, you can find him running, catching up on movies, listening to live music and hanging out with his cat, Biggie.
Melanie, Assistant Director
Melanie is thrilled to be part of the Beverly Hills team and share her knowledge of and passion for mathematics. She is a graduate of New York University with a BA in Mathematics and a BFA in Drama, where she was a volunteer assistant teacher for the Tisch School of the Arts. Since graduating, she has worked as a freelance educator in the arts for kids and adults alike, and most recently was an Instructor at the Mathnasium of Roland Park (in her hometown of Baltimore, MD) for a year before moving to the West Coast in July 2016. Outside of Mathnasium, she is pursuing acting, stage combat, and stuntwork. She will also most likely ask if she can pet your dog if she meets them.
Asad is currently a first year student at Santa Monica College. He hasn’t currently decided on what he would like to study in college, but he thoroughly enjoys math and science. He was born and raised in West Los Angeles, and wishes to travel as much as he possibly can. He has been working with children for more than a year now, which started off as babysitting. He has discovered that when teaching children you often learn as much, if not more, than them. He enjoys the challenge that mathematics brings, and has always taken the most demanding courses offered to test himself. Outside of Mathnasium, you can find Asad playing basketball or hanging out with his friends and family.
Zaren is currently a third year student at UCLA. He is majoring in Biology and hopes to attend Medical School in the future. He was born in Odessa Ukraine and raised in West Hollywood since the age of 2. He has been working with Mathnasium for more than a two years now first in Pasadena then at Beverly Hills. He enjoys learning new concepts and applying them to real life, and he has always taken the most demanding courses offered to be able to use his knowledge in other fields. Outside of Mathnasium, you can find Zaren doing escape rooms and hanging out with his friends.
Siera is currently a third year student at UCLA. She is majoring in astrophysics and hopes to attend graduate school in the future. She was born in La Canada and have lived in Los Angeles for her whole life. She has been working with Mathnasium for two months now at Beverly Hills, but has been working for more than six years with children as a private tutor. She enjoys expanding her knowledge on the universe and is always up for a conversation about any cosmic phenomenon. Outside of Mathnasium, you can find Siera doing amateur stargazing or studying with friends.
Chris is originally from Florida. While there he graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Criminology. Chris then graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law. He plans on furthering his education, specifically a degree in mathematics. In his free time, Chris enjoys making short films, playing basketball, and producing his own podcast which centers on college football.
