Christopher Hardy

Operations Manager
Rasised in Grant, AL for the better part of his life and then in Huntsville, Chris is a local and Veteran of the Unitied States Army. He is the father of 3 beautiful children, a 2nd degree black belt in the art of Tang Soo Do, the Garden State Grand Champion of 2022, and a volunteer part time Competition sparring team instructor. He spends most of his time fully involved as a father and husband while enjoying the "Jeep Life" as a proud member of the local Jeep club, Rocket City Wranglers. His other hobbies include swimming, running, kayaking, hiking, and cooking. He and his wife have a son enrolled in Mathnasium, which is what lead them to become owner and Director of the Huntsville Mathnasium. They are true believers in the Mathnasium Method and the impact it has on a child's confidence and understanding in math.

Kate

Center Director
After working as an Instructor for 4 years, Kate is putting her communication degree to use as Center Director! Each day, Kate strives to ensure that students have an effective, engaging, and encouraging learning experience that cultivates an intuitive understanding of math. Favorite Math Topic: Fractions. Hobbies: Origami, filmmaking. Fun Fact: A film short Kate directed has been shown in several film festivals! Favorite Math Joke: What did the triangle say to the circle? "You are pointless."

Ryan

Assistant Center Director, Rocket Science
Ryan hails from Georgia and loves using his math skills for driving race cars when he isn't instructing or studying Aerospace Engineering at UAH. He has been at Mathnasium 2+ years. Favorite Math Topic: Algebra. Hobbies: Driving race cars, fixing race cars, watching race car races, talking about race cars. Rock climbing. Fun Fact: Big Braves fan and racing fan, all thing space. Favorite Math Joke: Parallel lines have so much in common... it's a shame they'll never meet!

Gigi

Lead Instructor
Gigi used to hate math and even had to teach herself math when she was in high school! But her determination to become a tech engineer led her to enjoying math. Gigi has taught Robotics, Math, and Science at the Gateway Discovery and Innovation Center. Favorite Math Topic: Unit Circles Fun Fact: Gigi is a cartoon fanatic. Hobbies: Gaming, robots, 3D printing. Favorite Math Joke: Why did the angle win every argument? He was a right angle.

Evelyn

Instructor, Biologist
Once a Mathnasium student herself for 3 years, Evelyn has turned the tables to become an Instructor! Evelyn attends Madison Academy and, with her AP credit, hopes to graduate with sophomore level college standing to get an edge on a medical degree, perhaps in rheumatology. Favorite Math Topic: Shapes, because fun! Fun Fact: Evelyn was one of the few students to save enough points at Mathnasium to earn a guitar! Hobbies: Crocheting, music. Favorite Math Joke: My math teacher has a piece of graph paper. I think he must be plotting something!

Nate

Instructor, Aerospace Engineering
Nate grew up in Central Illinois and comes to Huntsville to study rocket science at UAH. When he was younger, Nate wanted to be an astronaut. But then, he thought, why ride a rocket when you can build it? Favorite Math Topic: Calculus, because it pushed the boundaries of what could be solved with math. Fun Fact: Nate’s team advanced to a state tournament at his very first chess competition! Hobbies: Tennis, chess. Favorite Math Joke: Why did the mathematician dump his food all over the oven? The directions said to put it in at 180 degrees!

Abbie

Instructor, Star-Gazer
Studying physics at UAH, Abbie hopes to one day be an astronomer researching black holes. She has lived all over North Alabama! During the summer, she enjoys helping at church youth camps. Favorite Math Topic: Trigonometry. I mean, come on, it’s shape math! Fun Fact: Abbie is a Bluey fanatic. Hobbies: Mountain biking, reading. Her favorite book is The Great Gatsby. Favorite Physics Joke: How many general-relativity theorists does it take to change a light bulb? Two. One to hold the bulb and one to rotate space.

Rachel

Instructor, Center Back Defense
For as long as she can remember, Rachel has been eating, sleeping, and breathing all things soccer. She started out as a Mathnasium student herself and now passes on her impressive math knowledge to our students! She goes to Grissom High. Favorite Math Topic: factoring, solving for unknown angles. Fun Fact: Rachel’s family is Korean, and they used to visit Korea often when Rachel was little! Rachel has also been to Canada, Mexico, and numerous places in the U.S. Hobbies: Soccer, soccer, soccer, piano, shopping. Favorite Math Joke: There are three types of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.
