Katia Y.

Center Director
For the past 10 years, Katia has worked with children of all ages, each with their unique needs. By working for non-profits, educational psychology, and running nine after school programs, she has learned how to effectively communicate to student’s by showing them how to use their strengths to their benefit. Her goal in life is to make a difference wherever possible. By helping student’s build their confidence and encouraging them to succeed, she feels that she is reaching that goal each day. Katia’s interpersonal skills has won the confidence and admiration of our parents and student’s. She show’s empathy, concern, and commitment to what is best for our students. In her free time, she finds herself pulling random objects out of her dogs mouth and finding new restaurants to enjoy with loved ones.

Jonathan S.

Assistant Director
Jonathan has a math background with years of experience in tutoring, from k-12 to college level math. He enjoys working with all ages of students and is fluent in tutoring math in Spanish as well. In addition from working at Mathnasium, he enjoys competing in Obstacle Course Racing from competing in Stadiums to mountains above 8000ft in elevation. Jonathan also enjoys watching Football and traveling before he has kids.

Nandini S.

Assistant Director
Nandini recently graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Human Biology. She is currently studying to get into graduate school for Physical Therapy. She is currently enrolled in the EMT program out of Santa Ana College and also has an A.S. in Mathematics from Santiago Canyon College. She has been working for Mathnasium for the past four years and enjoys working with the kids. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing and watching basketball (Go Warriors!) and trying out new food places from different regions and cultures.

Kenny A.

Lead Instructor
Kenny is currently a senior at Hope International University majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in math and wants to become a high school math teacher. He has prior tutoring experiences with elementary school and high school students. He loves to see the “aha” moment when students figure out something they have been struggling with a concept. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, mostly baseball and football, and loves going to concerts.

Ian L.

Instructor
Ian has recently graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Mathematics, and has over 6 years of experience tutoring students in math subjects from Kindergarten through college level math. Helping students understand mathematical concepts, achieve high scores in school, and take pride in their knowledge in mathematics is why Ian loves to teach. In his free time, he enjoys running marathons, developing software, and he is currently studying to get into a Masters program in Mathematics/Statistics.

Ryan L.

Instructor
Ryan is a current first year student at Santiago Canyon College studying to transfer to Cal Poly SLO for environmental engineering. He is a former student at the Mathnasium location in Yorba Linda. He decided to return to Mathnasium after graduating to become one of the instructors he had looked up to as a kid. He sympathizes with kids that don’t enjoy math because he didn’t either as a kid. In his free time he enjoys playing games, biking in all kinds of places, and napping.

Sophia P.

Instructor
Sophia is currently a first year student at CSUF and is working towards obtaining a degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Teaching. Her goal is to become a high-school math teacher in the future. Sophia enjoys helping students learn new concepts and enjoys seeing the joy on their faces when they finally understand a difficult topic. In her free time, Sophia enjoys drawing/painting, singing, and playing the ukulele. She also enjoys reading books, watching movies, and listening to music in order to unwind.

Niki K.

Instructor
Niki has graduated from UC Riverside with a B.S. in General Applied Mathematics and is currently a first year graduate student at CSUF working to obtain her M.S. in Computational Applied Mathematics. She has around 10 years of tutoring experience in both K-12 and college level math, and has previously worked at another Mathnasium center for about 3 years. She has always credited her success in understanding math to her tutors growing up, and wishes to be the same influence to kids who are currently struggling now. Her passion in helping others and having them bridge the gap between the unknown and the "aha" lightbulb moment is what drives her to always come back to instructing. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts/music festivals, reading, and playing video games.

Jacob C.

Instructor
Jacob is a senior at California State University Fullerton pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science. He is passionate about math and science and is dedicated to sharing his passion with the world. With a background in volunteering with foster children he is dedicated to watching kids succeed. He loves his dog Winnie and playing guitar. He sees potential and a future math pro in every smiling face.
