Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:
Lindsey Leidinger, Center Director
Lindsey has been with Mathnasium since 2013. She holds a master's degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and always enjoyed math during her years of schooling. Her favorite part of teaching is sharing the joy of math with students and helping them see themselves as mathematicians. When Lindsey is not teaching math, she can be found playing the piano, attempting Pinterest projects, or hiking the trails of Arizona with her husband. She was born and raised in Tucson and is therefore a U of A fan...sorry, folks!
Ariel B., Instructor
Ariel is currently a senior at Barrett, the Honors College at ASU. She is pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Biology with a minor in Mandarin. The first time math really made sense was in fifth grade when her teacher taught multiplication using arrays and skittles, and she's been hooked ever since! In her free time, Ariel enjoys fencing, reading, and doing math (no, she's not kidding).
Guillermo J., Instructor
Guillermo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at El Paso, with a minor in Physics. In addition, he completed one semester toward a Master's Degree in Mathematics. Guillermo has tutored all levels of math, including college math, for more than five years. He enjoys playing chess, watching soccer games, and solving math problems. He is from Mexico, so Viva Las Matimaticas!
Lily B-W., Instructor
Lily currently attends Arcadia High School while also studying Chemical Engineering at Scottsdale Community College. She is president of the Robotics Team and also an Advanced Dancer at Arcadia High School. In the spare time she has, she loves to play with her cats and have existential discussions with her close friends.
Nathan L., Instructor
Nathan is attending The Barrett's Honors College at Arizona State University studying electrical engineering. His favorite hobby is playing one of his many guitars through one of his many amps. He also enjoys playing with his cats, Wavvey and Fuzzy, and taking trips to Disneyland with his girlfriend.
Derek S., Instructor
Derek graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Psychology. In his spare time he loves to challenge himself writing computer code from scratch and de-bugging it (as needed!). On his 'bucket list' is to go sky diving and live in a foreign country for several years. Favorite movie is 'Good Will Hunting'--because of the Math of course!
Allison B., Instructor
Allison is currently attending Arcadia High School taking advanced Math classes (she received a 770/800 on her Math SAT). In her free time she likes to read, play soccer, and hang out with her friends. Her favorite food is pizza and she has a dog named Chloe.
Bailey S., Instructor
Bailey is a senior at Xavier College Preparatory. Sky diving in Hawaii is on her bucket-list since she loves both the scenery of Hawaii and the thrill of drop roller coasters. Her favorite movie is "St. Elmo's Fire" from way back in 80's. She has two dogs and volunteers with her mother and sister in the National Charity League.
Mike M., Instructor
Mike graduated with a Phsychology degree from the University of Iowa. In the future he would like to take a long vacation in South America to hike and enjoy the culture. People would be surprised (or maybe sad!) to know that he is a Cleveland Browns fan.
Alex L., Instructor
Alex is currently a senior at Arcadia High School and taking Calculus 3/Differential Equations. He plays varsity basketball which takes up most of his time during the season. In his free time he does like to hang out with his family and play card games (especially poker). On his bucket list is to try both skydiving and deep-sea diving.
Meilia B., Instructor
Meilia is currently in her senior year at Arizona State University finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in both Biochemistry and Psychology. When she is not studying she likes to practice piano, knit, cook, and eat. And one of those favorite foods is....brussel sprouts. Skydiving is on her bucket list since it's terrifying, but 'freedom is the other side of fear' (according to Will Smith).
