In high school I was in the National Art Honor Society and the Education Professions class for two years. In school I took math classes through Precalculus and Trigonometry. I have always loved being creative and helping others. I enjoy spending time with friends, drawing, painting, and baking. I enjoy working at Mathnasium, because it has always been a very inviting and positive place to work. I love getting to watch every student’s confidence grow. What is your favorite number? 26. When I was in Kindergarten I liked writing the loops in the 2 and 6. Which math word best describes you? Add. I am always trying to add positivity and kindness into other peoples’ lives.

MATHNASIUM HONOR ROLL: 1+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX, Former Instructor of the Month / I went to high school and college in the Indy area, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and German. My highest math classes include Differential Equations and Multivariable Calculus. I absolutely love travelling, both in the states and out of the country. I spend a lot of my free-time playing with my dogs, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and creating art! I really enjoy helping students achieve a better understanding of math, so that their confidence and abilities can grow to the level I know they are capable of. Math can be fun when you have someone there to help you through it! What is your favorite number? 11. It has been my lucky number since my golden birthday! Which math word best describes you? Polygon. I like to see things from every perspective (or side).

MATHNASIUM INFINITY & BEYOND: 5+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX, Former Instructor of the Month / I became an aunt at nine years old, so I have been working with and mentoring children for a long time and have loved every minute of it. While I wait for Jim Butcher to finish The Dresden Files, I have just started reading Kevin Hearne's The Iron Druid Chronicles and am very excited and optimistic. The highlight of my week is watching Sven Goolie on Saturday night with my husband. My highest math level includes Non-Euclidean Geometry, Introduction to Algebraic Structures, Differential Equations. When I first started at Mathnasium, I learned so many alternative methods to solve math problems that just made sense, and I was constantly asking, "Why isn't math taught this way everywhere?!" Getting to share repeated "lightbulb moments" with kids over this approach unique to Mathnasium has kept me coming back, and now I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. What is your favorite number? 4. Days spent with my husband and our two boys--or, as we call them, Four Family Days--are the best! Which math word best describes you? Function. No matter the input, I am always pushing it to the next level. I am very methodical and organized.

In my free time, I love playing the piano, reading, and exploring new coffee shops. I have completed the Calculus sequence of courses and Differential Equations. My favorite thing about working at Mathnasium is creating relationships with students! I love seeing their sense of accomplishment and confidence in themselves grow. What is your favorite number? 5. It was my favorite number growing up and the best odd number. Which math word best describes you? Algorithm. I am very methodical and organized.

I love any form of puzzle as well as board and word games. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures. Most recently, I went to Spain and Ecuador. My math expertise goes through AP Calculus BC. I love watching students have their "light bulb" moments when trying to figure out new approaches to challenging questions. What is your favorite number? 2. I love both its uniqueness as being the only even prime number and its ability to separate things equally. Which math word best describes you? Equal. I like things to be fair and evenly distributed.

In my free time, you might catch me biking, programing, or playing chess. I’m confident in math topics through Precalculus and Trigonometry. At Mathnasium, I like the relaxed productive atmosphere and being faced with the occasional cool math puzzle. I find it fun to get to know so many people and seeing their growth is very rewarding. What is your favorite number? Tau.  It’s like pi, but twice a good! Which math word best describes you? Absolute value.  It describes me well, because I’m always positive.

I love to birdwatch, write stories, and bake (eat) muffins in my spare time! I’ve studied math up until Partial Differential Equations. I love working at Mathnasium because helping kids start to enjoy math is so amazing. I used to be scared of math until my teachers led me to love it; I think everyone deserves a chance to love math! What is your favorite number? 7. It has the coolest multiples: 49, 63, 77, and so on. Which math word best describes you? Line. I can stick to my line of action to get a job done.

MATHNASIUM INFINITY & BEOYND: 3+ YEARS I attend Purdue to study math and German, and I enjoy reading, playing board games, and solving puzzles. I love working with kids and the inherent lightheartedness that comes with it, and since I have been at Mathnasium for a few years, I have also had the privilege of seeing a lot of the students grow, both in their math abilities and in life. As someone with a lot of interest in mathematics, I love seeing similar sparks in some of the kids and it is extremely fulfilling to get to help them build their confidence in and enjoyment of math. What is your favorite number? 3. Triangles are great, it has the best divisibility trick, and there's a Schoolhouse Rock song about it. What's not to love? Which math word best describes you? Composite. I like to think of myself as being made up of many different factors and I approach problems through this idea of compositeness as well.

MATHNASIUM INFINITY CLUB: 2+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX, Former Instructor of the Month / I am currently a Freshman at Purdue studying Finance. I enjoy walking my two dogs and hiking in nature and just being outside in general. I also love sports especially basketball. I have completed Calculus 1. Sometimes, students overcomplicate math concepts which can make math super stressful and overwhelming. I enjoy simplifying those concepts for students and watching them realize that maybe math isn't so hard after all. What is your favorite number? 1. It's simple and everything starts at 1. I also wore #1 in baseball for a lot of years so I just have a lot of good memories attached to it. Which math word best describes you? Equation. I love when things are balanced out whether it be in math or just in life in general. When everything is balanced and where it should be, life is usually pretty good.

My math experience includes Theory of Calculus, Rings & Fields, and Linear Algebra. I have always loved math, and helping others to understand and appreciate the subject brings that me so much joy! Which math word best describes you? Constant. Amidst all the changes in life, I try to keep the things that truly matter constant.

MATHNASIUM INFINITY CLUB: 2+ YEARS I enjoy playing tennis for my school team and traveling. I’m involved in Model United Nations and attend conferences all over the country. I’m very interested in STEM, specifically the medical field, and enjoy spending time in the hospital watching doctors do their jobs. I have completed AP Calculus BC. I really enjoy working with students and watching them go from struggling with a particular concept to mastering it. It’s a very rewarding experience knowing that you were a part of the reason they enjoy math. What is your favorite number? 1. It’s always the exception. One is a very unique number, because it doesn’t always follow the same rules that apply to other numbers, and that’s what makes it special. Which math word best describes you? Complex. There are a variety of problems that complex numbers can appear in. The same can apply to me in the sense that I have a variety of different interests and enjoy being a part of many groups.

MATHNASIUM HONOR ROLL: 1+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX, Former Instructor of the Month / I am a college student double majoring in chemistry and mathematics working towards a career as a chemist. Most of my time is spent studying, doing research or at Mathnasium, but when I do have spare time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and going on walks. My highest math level is Abstract Algebra. Some of my favorite moments at Mathnasium are when I get to meet a student where they are at and work together with them to understand something new. The moment when they finally understand is always so rewarding. What is your favorite number? 17. I have no great reasoning for this other than it was my classroom number a few times in elementary school. Which math word best describes you? Order of Operations. I am a very routine human who tends to have strong opinions on the proper way to preform a task, just like PEMDAS.

When I’m not doing that I’m listening to music and hanging out with friends. The highest math courses I have taken are: AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and Multivariate and Differential Equations. I love working at Mathnasium because I get to help kids of all different levels. I genuinely enjoy seeing others learn and begin to understand new concepts. What is your favorite number? 4. it’s the first composite number when counting up from 0. Which math word best describes you? Integral. I try to be an integral part of every group I’m in.

In my free time, I love doing jigsaw puzzles, painting, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family. I have experienced math courses up through Calc 3 and recently took classes on Proofs and Discrete mathematics! I love the fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere and having the opportunity to work with amazing students and instructors that make each day great! It has been so great getting to build relationships with each student and how rewarding it is to watch a student work through a difficult topic until it suddenly "clicks". What is your favorite number? 2. It's the only even prime number and I like that uniqueness about it! Which math word best describes you? Intersect. There are so many different things in life that intersect one another and it is always great to see how those intersections interact with one another and how these intersections have impacted me.
