Emily

Assistant Center Director
Emily has a passion for both educating and caring for children. She holds an Associate’s in Arts from McHenry County College and is pursing a degree in engineering. Throughout her time at Mathnasium, Emily has loved making math fun for her students. She is dedicated to building great relationships with each student and empowering them through fun, personalized math education. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time outside with her dog, painting and listening to music.

Cindy

Instructor
Cindy is a retired elementary public school teacher with 38 years of teaching experience. Besides having taught Math, Language Arts, and Health in Junior High, she also taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades as a regular classroom teacher. She has spent the last 8 years teaching RtI (Response to Intervention) Math to K-8 students who struggled with Math concepts. She's very excited to again be teaching math to students. Cindy received her BA in Elementary Education from Milikin University in Decatur, IL, and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University. She lives in McHenry with her husband of 30 years and has two grown sons. Her favorite activities include: teaching and talking about Common Core Math to anyone who will listen; being active in the Church of Holy Apostles ministries, especially singing in the choir; music; spending time with family and friends; traveling; reading; and cheering on her favorite sports teams -- the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Raji

Instructor
Raji, prior to joining Mathnasium, was a full-time mom raising and working closely with her daughter while also self-teaching concepts of Data Science. She lives in Cary with her husband and daughter who is now off to elementary school. She has a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Administration in Systems and Finance and comes with a strong background in Mathematics. Raji is excited to pursue her childhood dream and passion of teaching, especially Mathematics which is one of her favorite subjects to learn and teach as well. Her favorite hobbies include painting, traveling, trying different cuisines and food, and playing fantasy football.

Sam

Instructor
Sam is a graduate of Cary-Grove. Coming from a family with a background of engineering, he has always been interested in math, but has also grown interested in biology and genetics. He now grows plants, gardens and is interested in plant breeding. Sam has experience with the common struggles of math himself and has tutored in school and for friends in the past. He wishes to help students to not only gain skills in mathematics but also grow to love it.

Susan

Instructor
Susan is a recently retired math educator and Training & Development professional. She comes from Ireland and taught Math and General Science to 7th and 8th grade students and Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math at the high school level in Ireland. She spent the last 10 years teaching math to adults at the College of Lake County in the Adult Education Division's High School Equivalency Certificate program. Susan also developed their math curricula to the K-12 Common Core standards, delivering faculty professional development and creating their online HSE Math textbook. Prior to moving the USA, Susan also worked in corporate training and development as a Course Development Specialist for Ericsson, and as Course Development Manager for Intel Ireland. She is very excited to again be teaching math to middle school and high school students. Susan received a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences from Dublin University, Trinity College, her Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National University of Ireland and her Masters in Education from Colorado State University. Susan lives in Cary with her husband John and has two grown children. When she is not teaching math, she likes to paint watercolor landscape paintings, garden, travel, read and listen to music. She currently has artwork at three local art shows.

Jackson

Instructor
Jackson is currently a junior at Cary-Grove. He loves to teach, do math, and help others. At school, he is a part of the Math team, Scholastic bowl, Science Olympiad, and the Robotics team. In his free time, he likes to read. He hopes that in being part of Mathnasium, he can instill in others the same love of math that he has.

Nabeeha

Instructor
Nabeeha is currently a senior at Dundee-Crown High school, where she is in AP Calculus. She is planning on studying engineering in college and can’t wait to further her knowledge in math. Outside of school, Nabeeha is in National Honor Society, and plays the viola, as well as being on Varisty tennis. She is excited to help others love math as much as she does!

Pranaav

Instructor
Pranaav's journey is one marked by a genuine passion for education and a dedication to helping others. As a sophomore at Prairie Ridge High School, Pranaav exhibits an insatiable curiosity and an innate knack for problem-solving. If you ever find Pranaav outside of work and school, he’d probably be on a tennis court or sitting at a chessboard. Pranaav realized his passion for teaching math when he tutored his classmates in AP Calculus BC. Seeking ways to spread knowledge and appreciation of mathematics, Pranaav has tutored in various settings and is excited to bring that expertise to Mathnasium.

Kyra

Instructor
Kyra is a junior at Cary Grove High School currently taking AP Calculus AB. She is involved in many clubs at school including the tennis team, speech team, and musicals. She has always enjoyed math and is so excited to share this passion with others! Through working at Mathnasium, she hopes to show students that math can be fun and hopes to instill the same lifelong love of learning she has always had.

Jigisha

Instructor
Jigisha holds a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science as well as a license in Substitute Teaching and Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement. Jigisha loves working with different students. She believes that by sharing knowledge with others, she also gains more knowledge. Outside of work, she likes to volunteer at the Jain Temple, FMSC, and Marklund Center. Family is also one of her main priorities. She enjoys spending her time cooking, reading, cleaning, and helping others.

Josh

Instructor
Josh is currently a freshman at McHenry County College and is going into his second semester; pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Josh loves solving math problems and helping others solve problems they struggle to understand. He enjoys watching videos online and playing games with friends. He also loves to hang out with his family and eat sushi.

Zach

Instructor
Zach is a freshman at McHenry County College where he is currently learning calculus. He is pursuing a degree in Computer Science and he is happy to be keeping his math skills sharp through instructing. Zach has always loved math because of the many practical uses that math provides in daily life. He hopes that he can help other students grow their skills in the subject as well. In his free time Zach likes to play soccer and listen to music.

Landon

Instructor
Landon is currently a senior at Cary Grove. In school he is taking AP Statistics and is hoping to go to college as an engineer. Outside of school, he loves baseball, learning new things, hanging out with his brother, and working out. He loves to teach and realized his passion for it when tutoring his younger brother in math for a few years. He hopes to instill the reasons why we do the techniques in math instead of telling what we do and being a part of the Mathnasium community is a huge help with that.

Eamon

@Home Instructor
Eamon is currently a senior at Central Michigan University. Majoring in Actuarial Science, Eamon has had a strong interest in math since elementary school. In the 6th grade he even took the time to memorize the first 200 digits of pi to celebrate Pi Day. Outside of his interests in math, Eamon is involved in many clubs and activities such as the honors program, leadership institute, and club basketball. After graduating from Central Michigan he plans to pursue a career as an actuary focusing on small business consulting.

Lily

Lily is a sophomore at Auburn University, studying computer science. Besides school Lily likes to dance and hang out with her friends. Math has always been Lily’s favorite subject and she is so excited to share her passion for math with everyone!
