She loves the outdoors - many moons ago racing bicycles, skiing, tennis, now retired with a pair of very old knees!:)

Robin was born in Oklahoma, but has spent most of her life in Tucson. Currently, she is in her second year at the University of Arizona seeking a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. She graduated from Catalina Foothills High School, just down the street from Mathnasium. She has assisted in helping students with math for about four years, and has had a fantastic time working at Mathnasium since the Summer of 2010.
"The greatest joy about working here is knowing that I am a part of a program that not only helps students understand math, but aims to make math something that is fun and enjoyable too. In the short time that I have worked here, I have had the pleasure of seeing students' interests and abilities transform with persistence and regular attendance. I love being able to be a part of that transformation—it makes working at Mathnasium interesting and rewarding!"
When she's not studying math, she enjoys hiking and trail-running through desert scenery. She also enjoy reading—especially non-fiction. Her goals for the future are to study mathematics in graduate school, live abroad, and travel the world.

Jane enjoys horseback riding, swimming and baking. Jane says, "I love my job because I love working with kids and helping them learn. I think it's important that they have a true understanding of the things they will need to use later on as adults and it's fulfilling to know that I am helping them obtain that knowledge." Jane also likes playing the piano, noting that music theory helps with math.
Emily attended BASIS Tucson for middle school and high school, where she first began to tutor children in math, as well as being a math TA during her senior year of highschool. She is currently a Senior at the University of Arizona studying Creative Writing, and frequently is teased for being a liberal arts major rather than a math major. She began working at Mathnasium in 2009, which she believes is a valuable supplement to the public education system. What she likes best about the Mathnasium program is that it offers varying levels of math help and strives to help children overcome their difficulties with math.

After obtaining a Public Health degree she hopes to attend an accelerated nursing program and explore the world as a traveling nurse. Halie began working at Mathnasium when it opened in February of 2009. She loves the relaxed and fun atmosphere of Mathnasium as well as the look of success on students' faces when they finally grasp a concept they once struggled with.
Originally from Phoenix, Sam has been living in Tucson for the past two years while attending school. He graduated from Desert Mountain High School in 2009 and is currently in his junior year at the University of Arizona. Sam will receive a BS in Optical Sciences and Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Working with the students at Mathnasium has taught him a lot but his favorite part about being an instructor is the relationships he builds with the students. "Getting to know the kids is awesome!" He says, "I feel that the better you know a student, the easier it is to get through to them which helps in understanding the material." While not inside doing math, Sam loves being active. Baseball, snowboarding, and volleyball are a few sports that he enjoys. But he feels that after a long day, nothing beats just taking it easy and relaxing.
