Our Team

Laila is an MBA graduate from Duke University. She also holds a Masters degree in Decision Sciences from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom and a Bachelors in Business Administration from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Most recently, she worked as a strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. In this role, she worked as a consultant for a big 3 oil and gas company looking to tap into unconventional oil sources, a major airline undergoing a transformation and a top 5 U.S. university desiring a market entry strategy to expand into the high potential, developing markets of India and China markets. Prior to this, Laila worked as the Manager of the Management Audit program for an international non-profit organization focused on youth programs, education initiatives, immigrant settlement, healthcare and social development. Today, she sits on the National Board of the organization in a voluntary capacity. Laila has always loved numbers and the way they behave. She used math regularly in her past jobs and in her everyday life. She says the key is to learn the language of math. At Mathnasium, we teach you what is happening behind the numbers, how they relate and come together to form a MATH sentence. Once you learn the language, any problem can be broken down and solved. Laila also has a passion for working with kids and always has! She's done numerous youth camps over the years and has always found a way to work with kids in a variety of ways. She even took on a job in college working with kids with Autism and Down syndrome. One of her favorite things now at Mathnasium is to give the kids a new "challenge question" each week that not only stimulates that math brain waves but also gets them thinking about strategy and logic too!
