Gil Orcilla, Director
Gil obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of the Philippines. He took some courses leading to a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas, San Antonio. Gil is currently pursuing his Computer Engineering degree at Colorado Technical University.

He spent time doing substitute teaching in mathematics in School Districts 20 and 49. Gil donated about 120 hours of mathematics tutoring at Falcon Middle School while he was in the Air Force. Gil's last teaching experience was at Colorado Technical University as an Associate Professor. He is still on the active list for math tutoring at district 20.

As an educator, Gil is cognizant of the rising anxieties and fear of mathematics among many students in the school system. As a result, more kids are pursuing education and careers outside of the math and science area after high school. Gil believes that our nation's future depends on our children's performance. America's growth in computer technology requires engineers, computer scientists, physicists, accountants, lawyers, and mathematicians to maintain our vast resources. To help these kids succeeds they need a strong foundation in mathematics.

Gil's affinity for numbers led him to Mathnasium Learning Centers, where kids learn math in a way they can understand it. Gil initially tested the Mathnasium curriculum with his own children, and they loved it. Mathnasium's unique curriculum will change kids' perception of mathematics. It really is math that will make sense to them.
