My name is Phuoc Mai, I am a Vietnamese-American. I studied at Texas A&M and graduated with my BS in Electrical Engineering. I discovered my love for math back in primary school, being a foreigner in the United States math was the only thing that felt familiar. My favorite math activity is counting the number of slices of pizza I could eat! In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and learning about new hobbies.

Arjun

Instructor
My name is Arjun Mattewada! I am a junior at Veterans Memorial High School, currently taking AP Calculus. I started working at Mathnasium last summer after coming in as a student looking for help with the SAT. After coming in a couple of times, I knew this was where I wanted to work! Growing up, math always seemed so complicated to me (I hope some of you can relate). It stayed that way until one of my teachers at Windsor Park, Mrs. Cable, helped simplify it! Through her help, I began to understand math and excel. I joined the Mathletes, went to practices, and placed in competitions! My goal is to help take some of the frustration and complexity out of math, as Mrs. Cable did for me. Besides working with math, I enjoy playing guitar (or trying to, at least. Don't even get me started on barre chords), playing video games, and camping through Scouts (I actually just made my Eagle!) But enough about me! I hope to see you at Mathnasium!

Eric

Instructor
Hello! My name is Eric Thompson and I am a Junior at SST. I am ranked 3rd in my grade, and I have plans on moving up from there (maybe to valedictorian). I love biking, hiking, exercise, hanging out with friends, and, of course, math. Math has been a struggle for me growing up, but through that struggle and perseverance I’ve made a stronger connection with math and how it works. My goal is to help struggling students do the same as I did and find their love for mathematics all while having fun along the way.
