Denise is the owner of 3 Mathnasiums in the Raleigh region, Mathnasium of Cary, Mathnasium of Brier Creek and Mathnasium of North Raleigh. Denise's Brier Creek center, which celebrates its 2 year anniversary this year, has been helping students in the Brier Creek area of Raleigh and southeast Durham develop the thinking skills and confidence they need to succeed in their math classes. Highly specialized to the needs of Wake County students, the center offers additional help for EOG (End-of-Grade) and EOC (End-of-Course) tests, as well as highly qualified tutors for challenging classes such as Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra 1 and 2. By utilizing Mathnasium material to help children master the content of the NC EOG assessments, her centers in 2007-2008 resulted in nearly 50% of its' students receiving a '4' on their test; the highest grade possible.

Denise's love for Mathematics is apparent in her background - she studied mathematics and education at both the undergraduate and graduate level, with degrees from both Drexel University and Cornell University. After spending 20 years at AT&T Bell Labs and Cisco systems, she embarked on a new journey with Mathnasium to fulfill her desire to give back to the community and build strong math students in Raleigh's schools. Under her directorship, the three Mathnasium locations in Raleigh have truly become community math learning centers.

Caitlin Corkery, Director
Caitlin graduated with honors from UNC Chapel Hill in May 2008. She majored in Mathematics with a second major in Psychology. Caitlin began tutoring in high school and joined several volunteer tutoring and teaching programs throughout college, including teaching elective classes at a struggling charter school in Durham, and tutoring in math classrooms at Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Caitlin has been at Mathnasium for over a year and has worked with hundreds of students at all skill levels and learning styles. She was the lead instructor before taking over as Assistant Director, and helped organized and run an EOC camp in December to help prepare high schoolers for their final exams. The Brier Creek center has grown considerably under Caitlin's leadership and now serves over 100 students. Caitlin loves working with kids and hopes to impart her enthusiasm for math (an often unpopular subject) to her students.
