Rayan Chepuri, Center Director
As a child growing up in India, Rayan always enjoyed learning and teaching math. My love towards Math has gravitated me to pursue degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Following his graduation Rayan has moved to Minnesota to pursue his Masters in Computer Science. He took numerous roles in IT departments of large multinational companies. He believes in continuous learning, recently he has completed his executive MBA from Carlson School of Business.  Being part of Mathnasium,  Rayan is following his lifelong passion and commitment of helping students and parents in building lifelong love towards Math.

Shannon Sasek, Center Director
My name is Shannon Sasek and I am a graduate from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education as well as Early Childhood Education.  I received my Washington State teaching certification through Seattle Pacific University.  I have been an educator in the Kent School District for the past 7 years teaching in grades 1-3.  Teaching is my true passion and something I have always dreamed of doing.  I believe that all children will learn if given the proper foundation to do so. I most recently chose to extend my teaching experience by joining the Mathnasium Team in 2005, becoming the Center Director in the Kent Mathnasium.  I now oversee both the Kent and Covington Centers and focus on the Education enrichment of the learning center.

I believe my purpose in both careers is to teach minds, touch hearts and instill a love of learning for a lifetime in the students who I cross paths with.

Angeline Yen, Lead Instructor
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Math Education from West Coast Baptist College in California.  I have taught preschool, 4th grade, and high school math.  I also have many years of tutoring experience working with some of my previous students, foster children, and other tutoring companies.  I have always enjoyed doing and teaching math.  My passion is not only to see that children have fun with math, but also to help them realize the everyday application of math.  Mathnasium's method of teaching math is a great way to accomplish this!

Parent Testimonials:

“My daughter was failing math at her first progress report so we looked into tutoring options. Mathnasium has helped her understand the concepts and gave her confidence. At the end of the year assembly, she received one of four Math Department Award Certificates out of hundreds of 6th graders!”

“Mathnasium identified and filled in the gaps in many areas and noticeably boosted my son’s confidence.”

“Mathnasium has really helped Jake. The staff is so dedicated to each child’s success. It has been a wonderful experience for us.”

“My child was one year behind her classmates and was not progressing in algebra at all since she didn’t have the basics from the previous year. Mathnasium has built her confidence in herself and her math skills. She has improved a great deal and is beginning to understand the theories of algebra. It’s a wonderful program and well worth the money!”

“It’s well worth every penny! Peace at home is a good thing.”

“Before coming to Mathnasium, my daughter was failing math in the 4th grade. She was having trouble keeping up with classroom work and homework was frustrating for both of us. Mathnasium performed a miracle – in two months time she has gone from getting F’s on tests to getting A’s. She’s doing math in her everyday life (figuring out how much change she’s getting at the store, etc.) and something has ‘clicked’ to make her not only able to do the work in class but also to enjoy it.”

“It’s the best thing parents can possibly do if their child is having a difficult time in math. I would be happy to tell anyone and everyone about what Mathnasium has done for my daughter.”
