Caitlin Corkery, Director North Raleigh
Caitlin graduated with honors from UNC Chapel Hill in May 2008. She majored in Mathematics with a second major in Psychology. Caitlin began tutoring in high school and joined several volunteer tutoring and teaching programs throughout college, including teaching elective classes at a struggling charter school in Durham, and tutoring in math classrooms at Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Caitlin has been at Mathnasium for two years and has worked with hundreds of students at all skill levels and learning styles. She was the lead instructor before taking over as Assistant Director at the Brier Creek center, and helped organized and run an EOC camp in December to help prepare high schoolers for their final exams. The Brier Creek center grew considerably under Caitlin's leadership and now serves over 100 students. Caitlin was promoted to Director of the North Raleigh center in July 2009 and has been helping students in the North Raleigh, Wake Forest, and Knightdale areas gain confidence in their math skills. Caitlin loves working with kids and hopes to impart her enthusiasm for math (an often unpopular subject) to her students.
Kimberly White, Director North Raleigh
Kimberly graduated from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a minor in Classical Literature, along with an extensive background in Math including Calculus I, II, III, Number Theory and Statistics. She tutored Math, Latin and Greek at the collegiate level. With her diverse educational background, she became a successful private tutor before moving to North Carolina. She joined Mathnasium in September of 2009 and as part of her desire to keep up with the pace of our schools, she has also mentored at Durant Elementary which enabled her to have a firm grasp on grade level expectations to assist her students in their End of Grade test preparation. She is now the Co-Director of our North Raleigh location and has doubled the enrollment through her enthusiasm for the children. By making them an active partner in their education, utilizing games, praise, and invoking a sense of personal responsibility, the North Raleigh location has flourished in its second year due to the eagerness of the children to have fun and learn in a safe and happy environment.
