Mark Yutan, Director
Mark received his bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Biology from the California State University of Northridge. After serving as an Airman performing radar intelligence in the US Air Force, Mark worked as a manager in a tax & accounting firm before he began his teaching career. He served as an assistant professor in the Cal State system, and then taught math and science to middle school students in the San Fernando Valley. Mark considers himself a teacher, scientist and philosopher.
He enjoys working with children and showing them the beauty of nature. Practicality aside, he sees mathematics as having a beauty all its own, and wants to share with his students the aesthetic joy that comes from problem solving and gaining understanding. This desire led him to open the Mathnasium center in Pasadena and he looks forward to enlightening the students in his community.
