math tutor/tutoring in Stone Oak Samien Hasanali, Center Director
Samien earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a certified teacher. She worked as a substitute teacher and tutor, as well as a supplemental instructor in College Algebra.

While involved in both the public school classroom and alternative learning centers, Samien became aware that students needed more of a solid footing in math education than was usually available in their school math classes, and felt that the Mathnasium program could provide just that. She is excited to fill the math needs of students in her community by opening and operating Mathnasium of Stone Oak.

Samien and her husband Riyad Hasanali, a pharmacy manager at Walgreens, are residents and active members of the Stone Oak community of San Antonio. Samien has been involved in numerous education boards and plans to continue to be actively involved in her community.

Amanda Schilling, Instructor,

She loves math and loves working with children and helping them realize that math is not "scary" or difficult, but is fun and fascinating!

Salimah Sadruddin, Instructor,

Salimah has been a counselor for various summer camps for children between the ages of six through seventeen for over 5 years.  She is currently involved in the Education Board which implements various educational programs for the youth of the community. She enjoys being around kids as well as encouraging them to unleash their full potential!

Lauren Ruff, Instructor,
is currently attending the University of Texas at San Antonio pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Geology with a minor in Math. She expects to graduate in the fall of 2010 and plans on applying to graduate school in 2012 with a concentration in atmospheric science as well as mathematics. Growing up, Lauren has always enjoyed learning about science and math and finds it very useful in our day to day lives. She wants children to realize how important the fundamentals of math are to their education, but also have fun with it and not be afraid of a challenge.

Dear Mathnasium staff:

We are writing to express our gratitude for the time and attention you’ve given our daughter. Taking the time to research and then enrolling her at Mathnasium was the best decision we made for her. Her grades and attitude have improved remarkably over the past three months. We have also noticed she now approaches her math homework more confidently. The mentors in your center have had a great impact on our daughter; she now has a positive attitude towards math. We are very impressed with your teaching ability, as well as with the amount of care and attention you’ve given our daughter. I would highly recommend Mathnasium because it’s had a huge impact in our daughter’s grades and attitude towards math.
