Rangu Mandyam, Center Director
Rangu has a passion for teaching and her experiences are rich and varied. She has taught biology at a community college and science to junior high school students. She has also been teaching on Sundays at a children's program for eight years, where children are taught values and morals through stories and songs.
Rangu has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Botany from India, and a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from Canada. She worked for a couple of years in research institutes in Canada and the United States and then joined a biotechnology company near Los Angeles. After working there for nearly ten years with positions of increasing responsibilities, Rangu decided she wanted more time to pursue her interests in teaching.
Rangu is excited about the Mathnasium curriculum since she sees in it a lot of similarity to her own problem solving methods. Rangu feels it is extremely important to give children a strong foundation in math education and she is very eager to make a positive difference in children's lives through Mathnasium.

Testimonials
“I wanted to tell you that Carlee received a special Math Honors Achievement Award this year at her all school ceremony in June. Her teacher told her that he is recommending her for Math Honors Class next year. She received A+ on all three report cards in 6th grade. Knowing our daughter was seriously behind in Math skills prior to attending Mathnasium a little over one year ago, we cannot thank you enough! Your classes and learning center have proven to cause a complete and positive change in our daughter’s knowledge and skills. She is so confident now.” – Nancy and Mark Gilbert
“I just wanted to give you an update re: Von Allaman's Geometry grade. He finished the class with a B- and we are thrilled. He went into the final with a C and finished so strong on his final exam that he was able to bring his overall grade up to a B-. He absolutely met his goal of a 3.0 in Geometry and we are completely confident that he would not have been able to achieve this without his tutors at Mathnasium. Thank you so much and we look forward to another year of success with Mathnasium as he enters his junior year with Algebra 2.” – Victoria Powell
“McKenna continues to succeed in math this school year. I truly believe that her continued success is related to the Mathnasium program and the work you and your staff did with her. The Mathnasium approach to teaching my daughter worked. She is more confident in the subject and I feel that she made great progress in refining her knowledge of math facts. I would highly recommend you and Mathnasium to any of my friends in search of a program that works!” – Debbie Sellers
“I started my son in the Mathnasium program during the summer between 5th and 6th grade. Math was not his favorite subject and homework was very stressful for all of us. He was a ‘C’ student in math when he completed 5th grade. Not only is he now an ‘A’ student, but he has decided Math is now his favorite subject. Homework is a pleasure and in fact he is constantly trying to teach me what he has learned. Spencer looks forward to his time at Mathnasium and I can see how proud he feels about his accomplishment. His now found self confidence also shows in his other school classes and he has a strong desire to get all ‘A’s’. Thank you to Rangu and her staff for helping Spencer.” – Brynne Bradbrook
