Our Team

Shawn has spent his entire life in Fort Wayne and began his career in math tutoring as a freshman in high school. After graduating from IPFW with a degree in mathematics, his passion for teaching led to him acquiring a secondary teaching license. Shawn was teacher at Fort Wayne Community Schools for three years, where he created and implemented an after-school tutoring program. Shawn found the desire to join with Mathnasium when he was searching for a better way to teach math. After extensive research, he found that Mathnasium was the solution. It gives him the opportunity to pass on his love and understanding for math, while providing children with the chance to enjoy and master the subject. Shawn feels strongly that all students can be successful with math. At the same time, Shawn knows that it is difficult for parents to know how much their child is actually learning by simply looking at letter grades. Shawn is excited for the opportunity to offer Mathnasium in Fort Wayne, and to teach math to students in a way that makes sense to them.

Jackie has worked for Northwest Allen County Schools as an Instructional Assistant for 14 years. She is currently working at Carroll Middle School, where her job includes assisting students with math, as well as supervising study halls. Prior to working for NACS, she helped her husband manage the family hardware store for 20 years. Jackie and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 25 years. They have two children: their son Seth is a junior at Carroll High School, and their daughter Alix is a freshman at Carroll Freshman Campus. In her free time, Jackie enjoys making beaded jewelry, reading and gardening.

Gayle is currently enrolled at Ivy Tech full-time working towards a degree in Business Administration. Previously, she attended IPFW for two years, where she studied Mathematics and Education. After college she plans on continuing her job at Mathnasium while she opens her own marketing company. In her spare time, Gayle enjoys studying, hanging out with friends and running her own photography company. She hopes to earn her degree by the spring of 2012.

Tracey earned her degree in medical assisting from Indiana Business College. She works as a medical assistant for an internal medicine physician. Tracey was inspired to make a positive impact on children in her community while working with young kids at her church. Tracey feels that Mathnasium is a great way to continue helping children in her community. Tracey enjoys playing tennis and walking her dog. She has found a new love for running 5ks and other charity runs.
