Kip spent 30 years applying math to real-world problems. He holds a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from California State University Los Angeles. (Operations Research is a branch of applied mathematics that addresses complex decision-making problems. Management Science is Operations Research applied specifically to business problems.) Working primarily for banks, but also for a premier think-tank, a consulting company, a distributor of paper products, and an automobile company, Kip used math to clarify issues and give business executives insights into how their decisions might play out.

Kip now enjoys teaching the useful art of mathematics to a new generation. He is excited about Mathnasium. According to Kip, “The Mathnasium Method is the ideal supplement to classroom math instruction. Math is not really a lecture topic, it is an encounter topic. Classroom teachers cannot hope to guide individual students to encounter math in the way most suitable to each student. At Mathnasium, I will be able to create a custom learning program for each student. Each program will be unique, designed to meet the needs of exactly one child. Whether the child is struggling or advanced, I can use the Mathnasium Method to lead them to encounter math in the way that makes sense to them. There is no better way for children to develop a deep understanding and love of math.”
