Our Team
Karim received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information and Decision Science from the University of Illinois in 1996. He briefly worked in the IT industry for Sprint and then started his own business venture in the jewelry industry. While successfully operating a vertically integrated company (manufacturing, wholesale, and retail divisions) in multiple states, he always craved to be involved in his true passion of teaching, tutoring, and training.
After reviewing the Mathnasium methodology and approach in teaching Math he decided to make a career move as he found Mathnasium to be the perfect vehicle.
Since high school, Karim has helped kids in Math and Science and worked his way through college as a Tutor. He loves teaching and believes in lifelong learning and giving back to the community. With Mathnasium he is excited that now he can achieve both.
Simin graduated from Blytheville High School in 2005. She is in the process of getting her Bachelors Degree in Management at University of Memphis. She moved to the Memphis area in 2006. As an Assistant Center Director, for 3 years, she has learned a lot from the Instructors & Students. She has a passion to teach students of all ages, and to help them overcome their difficulties in any way possible. Her hobbies are scrapbooking, watching movies, & hanging out with my family and friends.
Bonnie is currently a senior at Collierville High School. Upon graduating, she will have 6 math credits including AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics. She is a member of the 30 And Above Club and scored a 35 on the math portion of the ACT. When not working, she spends her time studying, playing the piano, and running. After high school she plans to enter the United States Air Force, get a degree in mathematics, and become a pilot. Bonnie loves working at the Mathnasium because it allows her to share the fun of math with students of all ages.
Mac is from Germantown, attended St. George's for middle and high school, and is currently a Junior at the University of Memphis, majoring in Physics and Math. He hopes to take the LSAT soon and go to law school in 2 years. He really enjoys helping people get through the hurdles of math and making difficult concepts easier to understand.
Natalie is a sophomore in highschool and has been working at Mathnasium since June of 2011. Prior to that, she volunteered as a tutor in a community service program. She stills enjoys volunteering, and loves getting to interact with students of all different ages and backgrounds!
Staci is a native of Memphis. After graduating from Bolton High School in 2008, she attended Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. She recently graduated with a degree in mathematics with minors in psychology and secondary education. She is a proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She hopes to become a high school math teacher and possibly return to school for a masters degree.
Steven is a senior in the Honors Graduate Program at Collierville High School. He is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, ACT 30 and Above Club, Swim Team and Spanish Club. He is a competitive year round swimmer for Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club and a member of Boy Scout Troop 331 with just his Eagle project to finish up. He plans to study Mechanical Engineering in college somewhere in the southeast next fall. Steven started at Mathnasium mid September 2011 and looks forward to working there because of the relaxed, fun and educational atmosphere.
Holly is currently a sophomore at Collierville High School. She has a composite score of 33 on her ACT with a 35 on the math portion. This year, Holly is enrolled in two math courses: Honors Pre-Calculus and AP Statistics. She enjoys playing tennis, writing poetry, and participating in her school's Knowledge Bowl Team and Math Team. Holly loves her job at the Mathnasium because she is able to help children learn to understand and enjoy mathematics.
Josh is a second-year doctoral student studying philosophy at the University of Memphis. Josh attended Simpson College for his undergraduate education where he majored in English and philosophy and minored in mathematics. He enjoys teaching, no matter the subject, and misses studying mathematics, so Mathnasium is a great fit.
