Jamil Batshoun

Assistant Center Director
Jamil graduated with a Physics major from California State University, East Bay. Beyond his academic pursuits, he enjoys gaming, gardening, cooking, running, and has a unique interest in Flat Spectrum Radio Quasars. He finds satisfaction at Mathnasium when students gain confidence and reduce learning stress. An interesting fact about Jamil is his time spent working with space telescopes and astronomers in Arizona.

Katie Christensen

Lead Instructor
I am currently attending Citrus College majoring in Early, Elementary, and Special Education. I have a passion for teaching young students and I love that at Mathnasium we strive to make learning math a fun activity. I love animals, baking, art, and music, and I have a twin brother.

Alicia Prince

Instructor
Alicia is a Cal Poly Pomona computer science student who finds joy in hanging out with friends, watching sitcoms, working out, and going on nature walks. She's passionate about Mathnasium for its individualized approach to nurturing a love for math in kids. An interesting tidbit about her is that she was born outside the US. You should ask where when you come in?

Tristan Marshall

Instructor
Tristan is a Statistics major with a History minor who's passionate about sports, the Dodgers, and pop culture, including Star Wars and superheroes. He also enjoys writing, video games, and movies. At Mathnasium, he combines his love for math with a joy for working with kids, making it a fulfilling experience for both. An interesting fact about Tristan is that he's the oldest of four siblings, ranging from 15 years old to just 1.5 years old.

Jocelyn Verner

Instructor
I am a student at Citrus College, where I'm majoring in Biology. I love to watch movies and draw. Huge clippers fan! I love how Mathnasium meets students in their math journey to help build confidence so they can succussed in their math. Some interesting facts about me are that I was a soccer coach for three years for Glendora Youth's Soccer League and I have 4 cats and 2 dogs.

Nicholas Cruz

Instructor
Nicholas (Nicko) graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Computational Mathematics. He joined our Mathnasium team in November 2023. Nicko loves seeing the variety of ways that students approach math problems and how we assist in building strong foundations in their math knowledge and understanding. Some interesting facts and hobbies/interests about Nicko are that he grew up skating at Finkbiner Park (a local to Glendora), plays Chess, loves books and skating, and works on programming. Additionally, Nicko has conducted research in nanotech during his undergrad years and is currently in the process of applying to graduate school, looking to pursue his Masters in Computer Science and work on research in Artificial Intelligence.

Alejandra Cermeno

Education Specialist
Alejandra graduated from the University of California, Riverside in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Shortly after graduation, Alejandra joined the Mathnasium of Pasadena team as an instructor and advanced her way to Center Director over the course of 3 years. As Education Specialist, she is now in charge of all student learning plans, training of new instructors, and furthering the training of current instructors.

Andrew Molina

District Manager
Andrew graduated from the University of San Diego in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. After graduation, he joined the team at Mathnasium of South Pasadena as a Math Instructor. After moving his way up to Lead Instructor and Assistant Center Director, Andrew became the Center Director for the Mathnasium of South Pasadena. Due to the wonderful time he had to manage the South Pasadena center over the course of 3 years, Andrew looks forward to his new role as District Manager. As District Manager Andrew will oversee the management of the Mathnasium centers located in Monterey Park, Pasadena, San Marino, and South Pasadena. He is excited to continue to provide top-tier customer service at each Mathnasium location as well as helping build his students’ confidence so they can succeed at any goal they set for themselves.
