Our son had always done well in math, but for various reasons he fell way behind one year. Homework was a nightmare—a couple of hours of going through something that should have taken 20 minutes, just to turn around and find it was all forgotten by the next day. We knew that we needed help to get him back on track before junior high. We checked out various options and decided to try Mathnasium. We signed up for a summer program. Those couple of months made such a difference that our son asked to keep going during the school year. He was excited to go to Mathnasium. The tutors were wonderful and made him feel welcome, important, and capable. He loves math now! Homework is no longer a problem. His understanding and focus are so much better. J'on Luc just turned 7 and he is in first grade. Before J'on Luc started with Mathnasium, I'd ask him about his Math and he didn't want to talk about it, neither did he want to work on it. He would say: "I don't know how to do Math". J'on Luc has been going to Mathnasium for almost a month and a half now and he loves it!! He looks forward to coming and talks about Math. Often when he lays down to go to sleep at night, he likes to talk about what happens if he adds a particular number to another number. Then he likes to tell me the answer. When he went to the dentist the other day. The dentist asked him what his favorite subjects were in school and he answered :" Science and Math. I go to Mathnasium!!"

Math has never been a weak part of school for me. It's just that I had never had the right training. In previous years, I had never been able to finish, let alone take a quiz on my own, and I almost always ended up retaking it. But every single test that I took this year has been an "A", and I finished it in the time provided. For the first time in my whole life I like doing math!!

My grades had been mostly Bs then after I went to Mathnasium they turned into "As".

Since coming to Mathnasium, I have always gotten higher than a B and this year is the first time since 5th grade that I have gotten an "A".
