Arthur

Center Director

After graduating from Stony Brook University in NY, Arthur came to be involved in Mathnasium by way of Instructor before becoming a Center Director. His dedication to student success is apparent in the attention to detail provided to each individual student experience.

Joy

Sr. Instructor

Joy has spent over eight years tutoring Chemistry, Biology, and Genetics. She has a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and a Master's in Education from Seattle Pacific University. Joy also has three years of experience as a paraeducator in the Lake Washington School District. Joy likes helping students overcome their personal hurdles in math. She enjoys introducing students to the fun side of problem-solving and showing them that working on complex problems can be absorbing and rewarding. In addition to her work at Mathnasium, Joy is a volunteer forest steward working with the Green Kirkland Partnership.

Tyler

Sr. Instructor

Tyler graduated from the University of Washington, Bothell, with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics and recently obtained his Master's in Education. During his time in undergrad, he taught a course on videogame design which piqued his interest in teaching. In his spare time, he enjoys photography and origami.

Ilia

Instructor

Ilia has taught all levels of K to 12 math and beyond, teaching math and computer science at Portland Community College. Ilia holds three undergraduate degrees, one in Mathematics, one in Computer Science, and one in Electrical Engineering!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
