Our Team
Martha Dalton earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Alabama. She is certified to teach secondary math and instrumental music. Over the past 20 years, she has taught middle school and high school math, as well as middle school band in Calcasieu Parish. She is a former school level coach of MATHCOUNTS, a middle school math program.
Martha has many interests including playing racquetball and playing the French horn. Martha and her husband Robert have four children, Bobby - Attends the University of Alabama, Allison - Attends Sulphur HS, Shannon - Attends St. Louis High School, Jaime - Attends Maplewood MS.
Since her youth, Martha has felt that a solid foundation in mathematics facilitates success in career and life. This philosophy has led her down the path of education and the Mathnasium method of teaching mathematics is a natural progression of her effort to meet the goal of creating this foundation for children.
Wayne earned a BA in Education from McNeese State University in Lake Charles. He also has a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision with 45 hours above his Master’s Degree. For over 30 years, he taught upper elementary mathematics and science, summer school for migrant education, and adult education. He was an assistant principal for 15 years, media center director, and computer lab coordinator. He has also tutored students in the areas of math, LEAP, GEE and ACT in addition to working with homebound students at the upper elementary and high school levels. He currently is a substitute teacher at Barbe High School & SJ Welsh. Wayne enjoys traveling, yard work, and mentoring students at the high school and college levels.
Tiffany earned a BA in Elementary Education, Magna Cum Laude, from McNeese State University. Over the past five years, she has taught middle school Math, Reading, and Science in Calcasieu Parish. She presently teaches 6th, 7th and 8th grade math at Maplewood Middle School. She graduated from Eunice High School ranked 9th in her class and scored 24 overall on the ACT, with a 29 in math. Tiffany enjoys camping, going to movies, playing games, and traveling.
Ethan is currently a Junior at Barbe high school and is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He has been in the Gifted program since 6th grade. He currently takes Advanced Math 2 (Pre-Calculus) Gifted and has taken many Advanced Placement courses, passing each exam for college credit. He has participated in the Barbe chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, a math club. He also has been a part of the Barbe high school advanced choir for the past 3 years and plays guitar. His current ACT composite score is a 28 with a score of 26 in math. He plans to attend McNeese State University with a major in civil engineering and a minor in math.
Claire is currently a senior at Barbe High School. She is active in Barbe's Math Club (Mu Alpha Theta) and the National Honor Society. She will be graduating with honors and plans to pursue a Biology/PreMed degree at McNeese State University.
Claire enjoys playing games, reading, running, and watching movies.
Lauren Snider graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in 2011. She was valedictorian of her class and a National Merit Finalist. She has years of experience as a private math tutor prior to Mathnasium. Currently a freshman at McNeese State University, she is pursuing a major in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry. Lauren spends her free time reading and playing the piano.
Lauren Salvador is a 16-year-old junior at Barbe High School. She has been in the Gifted program since second grade, and since starting middle school she has taken the highest courses offered. She is taking Gifted Pre-Calculus and is currently enrolled in three AP courses for college credit. She scored a 31 in math on her ACT. After graduating she plans on studying at Louisiana State University.
Cynthia Bergeron earned an Associate of Science-Drafting and Design from Louisiana State University at Eunice; a Bachelor of Science, double major Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics from McNeese State University and is currently pursuing an MBA from McNeese. Her experience includes:
• 2005 Substitute Teacher, Grand Lake High School, K-12
• 2005 Math 092 Instructor – graduate assistant, McNeese State University
• 1981 - 2003 Along with other duties, trained employees at local refinery on various topics, such as: technical software, diversity, and safety topics.
Cynthia enjoys traveling, art, baking, gardening, sports in general,
(Basketball, tennis, walking), volunteering as alumni member of university clubs such as: Math, Business, and Human Resources, adventure sports: para-sailing, rafting, and most of all playing with her grandchildren. Cynthia and her husband, Terry, have three adult boys, ages 24, 22, and a 19, two daughters-in-law, and two grandchildren ages 4 and 1.
