Clay has come on board to join Mathnasium of Lake Forest as their Franchise Director in October of 2011.
Clay graduated from Vanguard University of Southern California in 2006, where he played baseball and was coached by Mathnasium of Lake Forest owner, Dave Peddie. Dave and Clay have both expressed their desire to further the education of local students and have partnered together to create an exceptional learning environment. Clay has also worked at Mathnasium of Lake Forest in the past as their director and was very happy with the opportunity to come back and work with Dave and his wonderful staff of tutors.
Clay and his wife Jenifer Brown, live in South Orange County and both have a rich background in education, previously holding positions at Mathnasium of Orange and Lake Forest, CA. Clay is incredibly excited to continue his passion to teach and work with young students on achieving the absolute best that they can in school and especially in mathematics. Clay is quoted as saying “Positive reinforcement and daily encouragement are the keys to helping young students obtain their goals in school and gain all the confidence they will need as they transition into gifted young adults”. Clay considers himself blessed to be able to work at Mathnasium and continue his life long passion of teaching.
Darrik recently graduated with his Associates Degree from Irvine Valley College and is currently attending UCI. He is planning on studying Environmental Engineering and has always had a passion for math and science. Darrik has lived in Lake Forest all his life and has been tutoring at Mathnasium for two years.
Anthony grew up as a local student in the Lake Forest area. Anthony attended Serrano Intermediate and El Toro High School. He is familiar with the schools, teachers, and subjects. Anthony was a student at Mathnasium Lake Forest before he started volunteering there, which eventually led him to become a tutor for four years. Anthony is currently studying Math at California State University Fullerton. In his spare time hes likes to play Video and Trading Card Games. Anthony's goal is to become a successful Math Teacher.
Stacie has over a decade of experience as a math tutor in the Southern California area, and has been part of the Mathnasium team since February 2010. Stacie is a local of the area, having attended Mission Viejo High School, Saddleback College, and is currently working to attain her bachelor’s in Mathematics at University of California, Irvine. Stacie is a single mom to her amazing 7 year old son, Marcus. In her free time, she volunteers in Marcus’s classroom as a helper and a room mom. Stacie also enjoys ocean swimming, teaching Sunday School at her church, and outdoor activities. Stacie has a passion for mathematics that she loves to share with others. She believes that with patience and instruction tailored to suit each person’s needs, she can convert anyone into a “math-lover”, like herself.
Shayna is currently a fourth year student at the University of California in Irvine, majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Business Management. She is a part of the pre-med club on campus, the Bollywood Dance team known as Zamana as well as the Indian Sub-Continental club. In high school, she was part of the mathematics club and helped tutor other students in math and science. Shayna is very comfortable in areas in mathematics such as: Trigonometry, Algebra I and II, Calculus, Statistics and Basic Math. Not only does she have a passion for math, but she also enjoys helping other students and peers gain the understanding needed to succeed in each math level. In her spare time, Shayna love to play volleyball, basketball and dance. She strongly believes that any student willing to put in the time and effort to excel, will succeed and overcome obstacles that were initially impossible
Jordan is currently attending California State University Fullerton and pursuing a degree in International Business. He has been a part of the Mathnasium team since January of 2011 and loves what he does. He loves math and enjoys helping other students develop a love for math. One of his favorite things about tutoring is seeing a student have that “ah-ha” moment when a concept suddenly clicks in their brain. In his spare time he likes to play sports like roller hockey and tennis. Jordan also has a passion for foreign languages as he can speak French and German along with English and plans to learn even more.
