MATHNASIUM Lake Grove NY has “broken the code” for how to teach math in a way that makes sense to each student.  This is done by first taking the time to understand, via an evaluation with both verbal and written components, how the student thinks and approaches grade level math concepts.  Next a personalized learning program is tailor-made for each student.  Specially trained, MATHNASIUM certified, tutors provide instruction, encouragement and warm friendly interaction.

The “vibe and culture” of the learning center is open, welcoming, encouraging and fun.  Each student works one-on-one with a tutor and is given goals and incentives during a well-structured hour to ninety minute session.  During this time, if needed, homework help is also provided.

Parents are given multiple forms of feedback including daily feedback from students via the “last stamp of the day”.  At the end of each session the instructor asks the student to briefly reflect on what was learned or mastered that day and to write a sentence describing it.  Additionally, mastery checks are completed at the end of each prescriptive lesson and available to parents or teachers at any time.  The best proof of effectiveness is the positive attitude of the students towards Math and the improvement in grades at school.

Membership at MATHNASIUM is similar to a Gymnasium, for a monthly fee students have unlimited access to the center, provided we are notified of when they are coming in.  We are flexible to the demands and changing schedules of students and parents and will likely accommodate any reasonable requests.

Most often after only 1 or 2 visits students respond very positively and are eager to come back.  We assert, provided a student attends at least 2 times a week, you will see significant improvement in understanding, attitude and confidence in 3 months.  You will see dramatic improvement in 6 months.   Many of our students stay with MATHNASIUM for years and enjoy great success in math as a result.
