It's Graduation Week - Congratulations to Mathnasium's Seniors!

May 17, 2017 | Littleton

This week three of our outstanding instructors, Abby Moser, Caleb Izmirian and Zach Aparicio, graduate from high school and start their move onto bigger and better adventures! All three are not only fabulous mathematicians and great instructors but young people I admire and with whom I enjoy spending afternoons and evenings. All three were semi-finalists for the prestigious Boettcher scholarship and have been recognized both with scholarships and awards at their respective high schools. All three were accepted by several top universities including CU Boulder, Kansas University and more.

Caleb graduates Thursday May 18 from Bear Creek High School where he was active with the drama and music departments as well as the men's volleyball team. Caleb earned his Eagle Scout this year in Boy Scouts. Caleb elected to attend the University of Oklahoma this fall in Norman. He will be studying Chemical Engineering and National Defense! We wish him all the best!

Abby faced a tough decision between two outstanding universities who accepted her - Kansas University, her father's alma mater, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. She was approved to participate in the highly selective SELF program at KU, a program which has a mission to identify and develop students who have a passion for engineering and possess a “fire in the belly” mentality. Abby definitely fits that description! And, yet, wanting to branch out on her own, she elected to attend MIT this fall and will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering! Abby graduates as a member of the National Honor Society, the National French Honor Society and MU Alpha Theta! Something she is very proud of is when she was in 7th grade, she set herself the goal of having straight A's throughout Junior and Senior high school at D'Evelyn and she is happy to report that she achieved that goal!

Zach was accepted by CU Boulder, his family's alma mater, as well as the Colorado School of Mines. He has decided to attend Mines, which will allow him to work occasionally at Mathnasium beyond this summer! Zach plans to study applied mathematics and go into accuarial sciences. He is perfect for that course of study as he continues to excel in math and math competitions. His team placed 1st again this spring and he was recognized last week at D'Evelyn's Senior High Schoolar Academic Awards night.

Both Zach and Abby, who have been with Mathnasium of Littleton for two years, are graduating on Saturday May 20 from D'Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School. All three instructors will continue to work at Mathnasium of Littleton as much as their schedules will allow them before moving and starting school this fall. Abby will be taking on some additional administrative duties over the summer to help earn money toward her schooling.

Congratulations Zach, Caleb and Abby! We're all super proud of you and can't wait to see what your future holds!
