Our Team
Brad earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas A&M University. He’s taught math, science and religion for 7 years in private and public schools. Brad continues to teach at Christ the King Cathedral School on a part-time basis.
His desire to help students who are having trouble in math to overcome those challenges led him to opening Mathnasium of Lubbock. Brad is very excited to bring the Mathnasium program to his community.
Brad, his wife, and 5 children enjoy being involved in church and school activities at Christ the King Cathedral.
Emily is currently a Junior at Texas Tech University. She spent her freshman and sophomore year at Tech pursuing an Engineering degree. She has taken and excelled in college level Calculus I, Calculus II and Statistics. Her time at Mathnasium has allowed her to discover that she loves helping people. This led to her decision to switch her major to Human Development and Family Studies. Emily's favorite thing about working at Mathnasium is watching the students learn and improve. "I love watching kids walk out with more confidence than they had walking in." Emily is engaged and planning her wedding for June 2012.
Erin is a Junior in the Honors College at Texas Tech University. She is pursuing a degree in Mathematics with minors in Spanish and Education. Erin's favorite part of working at Mathnasium is figuring out how each student learns best and adapting her teaching style to fit their needs. After graduating, Erin hopes to teach math and Spanish in a small private school and eventually teach in an international school.
Carlos is a graduate student at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center studying Clinical Laboratory Science and has earned a Bachelor's Degree in the area of Zoology from Texas Tech University. Carlos has taken several courses in math including College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus I with great success. He is CRLA certified thanks to his time spent as a tutor at Texas Tech's TECHniques Center, which is a center for college students with Learning Disabilities, such as ADD, ADHD and Dyslexia. Mathnasium has been great for Carlos as he enjoys being able to help students from different areas of Lubbock. Carlos hopes to eventually become a Doctor of Physical Therapy in the future.
Johanna is a sophomore at the University of Texas in Austin. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and hopes to continue her education by attending graduate school for Biomedical Engineering. Her ultimate career goal is to design innovations in the biomedical technology sector. While taking her various college math classes, she discovered a passion for mathematics and their applications. Helping open the minds of students to the solutions math provides for everyday problems is Johanna’s favorite aspect of working at the Mathnasium.
Patty has earned a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters in Education from Texas Tech University. She taught special education students for 33 years in Lubbock I.S.D. at Monterey High and Matthews Junior High. After retirement, she was a part-time diagnostician at Matthews Alternative High School. She enjoys being around the students at Mathnasium and helping them with their math. She is very active in church activities at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Suzanne is a retired Middle School Teacher who has taught math for 20 years. She earned her teaching degree from Texas Tech University after which she taught school for a total of 28 years. She loves working with children as a math tutor, a Bible class teacher, and serves as a mentor for students from Ralls.
Suzanne loves the Mathnasium way of teaching math to students. Its concrete method of teaching abstract concepts making learning both easy and fun. She wishes she had known the Mathnasium methods while she was a classroom teacher. It would have made difficult learning math so much easier for them.
