Devi Paolillo MS, MFT, Owner/Center Director Master Certified by Mathnasium
Devi combines her many interests and professional talents to create the best learning experience possible for students. She has been an elementary school teacher, supervised student teachers, taught workshops for teachers on best ways to teach and worked with children, adults and families as a psychotherapist. At Mathnasium, she is responsible for developing and supervising the instructors, as well as managing the business. She has had twenty-five years experience as an educator and therapist working with children of all ages and stages of development.
Devi was a consultant for an educational training and development firm that offered professional development workshops for teachers across the Northeast United States. She also prepared a community college for accreditation by teaching and assisting faculty to design and develop their curriculum to standards. Additionally, as a therapist she specialized in helping families with adopted children. She loves direct teaching time with Mathnasium students.
Devi graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with a degree in Mathematics and Education. She earned a Masters in Science from SUNY New Paltz in Special Education and a second Masters at Hahnemann University in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Meg Pietsch, Lead Instructor
With a B.S in Mathematics and Master of Arts in Teaching and Teacher Education (secondary mathematics), Meg enjoys sharing her love of math with students. She has been tutoring math for 30+ years. One of her greatest joys is working at Mathnasium: seeing students gain confidence and excellence in mathematics. As a grandmother of 2, she enjoys spending time with family as well as hiking, traveling, and Sudoku.
Stan Palasek, Volunteer Instructor
Stan is a Junior at the Sonoran Science Academy. He has interned at Mathnasium of Marana since September 2009, and finds it a great place to share his passion for mathematics with other students. Currently Stan is taking Multivariable Calculus and enjoys the challenge of using mathematics to model complex biological systems. He was named the 2010 Future Innovator of the year and twice won Forth Place at the International Science and Engineering fair. He plans to one day go to college and study mathematical physics. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, classical music, and Mexican food.
Haur Pinson, Instructor
Haru enjoys teaching mathematics and solving mathematical problems. He also enjoys helping students learn at Mathnasium. He teaches high school mathematics at a Tucson charter school. He received mathematical training at UC Berkeley and at Columbia University. .
Michelle Kesler, Instructor
Michelle is a senior at the University of Arizona studying Elementary Education. She will be student teaching at Roadrunner Elementary in the spring. She loves to play Frisbee, camp, hike, and do anything else that involves being outside. She absolutely loves working with kids, especially here at Mathnasium! They are just so funny and full of life. It is so great being able to see their math skills grow.
