Amanda Bauer, Assistant Director & Lead Instructor
In 2004, Amanda graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University. After several years of success as a young professional in the DC area, she decided to transition into a more fulfilling career in education. She is currently in the process of getting a Master of Education with a concentration in Secondary Education - Mathematics. She has already passed the Praxis II Math Content Knowledge exam with a Recognition of Excellence from ETS. At Mathnasium, Amanda is thoroughly enjoying the one-on-one instructional setting, as well as the opportunity to help students overcome their math anxieties and develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
A. Bellaachia (Bell), Curriculum Director
Bell has over 20 years of teaching experience. He has been interested in teaching others since he was a kid. He began tutoring Math in high school at the age of 15. Bell earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. He has taught Math for several years and is experienced in curriculum planning and development
Bell brings an expertise to the teaching side of Mathnasium of McLean. He has very strong knowledge and skills in teaching mathematics.
Kristin Wiley, Lead Instructor
Kristin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Radford University where she was selected for membership in Kappa Delta Pi-the Honor Society for Education. She is currently studying Educational Leadership in Mathematics at George Mason University to become a certified math specialist. In addition to working as a classroom teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools for the past six years, Kristin collaborates with other teachers to refine their mathematics instruction.
Kristin joined Mathnasium because she enjoys working with students to think beyond algorithms to develop a deeper understanding of math concepts.
