Our Team

Rick & Jeanie Davis, Owners
Rick holds both a BS and an MBA from the University of Utah. He has worked for 25 years in the high tech industry, mostly with Intel Corporation. He has a well diversified background having managed manufacturing, engineering and construction functions. Rick is excited to be involved with Mathnasium as he has seen a real need for improved math skills in his work in the high tech industry. Additionally, he has many years of experience working with and teaching kids of all ages in community and church related activities. The curriculum offered by Mathnasium and the approach to teaching and learning struck a chord with Rick’s own feelings about how to work with youth in a critical area of their education. Jeanie has a tremendous love for children of all ages and is excited about the opportunity to hold "extra curricular" activities with the students (playing games and holding movie nights are two of her current favorites!) Rick and his wife Jeanie have four wonderful daughters, (Kiera is pictured here with them), three sons (by way of marriage to their daughters) and five grandchildren.

"I want the students to feel comfortable here, like I am their friend who can help them work through tough math questions and learn to enjoy the challenge!"
Martha Knox, Instructor
Marty Knox is a retired math and computer science teacher, K-12 and community college. Marty has a BSBA and MEd in Math, a Community College Teaching Certificate in Computer Science, and a Standard Teaching Certificate in Math and ESL. She has always loved Math even as a child. Math is fun, like solving a puzzle. She instills the love of Math to students of all ages. She believes that anyone can learn math, but they might not learn math the same way.
"It is very important for an instructor to help students learn math their own personal way; whether it is through using drawings, by listening to the person, by talking about math, by using everyday real life examples, or by experimenting and trying things out. Everyone uses Math everyday."
Mandy Sabin, Instructor
Mandy graduated from Gilbert High School. She recently graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. While student teaching, she loved to come up with fun, hands on ways to teach math.
