Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Geremy Kerr, Center Director

Geremy is customer service driven and has a passion for teaching math. The desire to help "make math make sense to kids" is what brough him to Mathnasium in the first place. Geremy offers outstanding consultative advice to educate parents and students on the Mathnasium program and the academic expectations of kids today with Common Core standards. Knowing success breeds success, Geremy's team will help design a learning plan just right for each student so they can meet their math goals in an efficient manner. Education: Bachelor's from Arizona State University; previously went to Apache Junction High School 

Fun Fact: Geremy lived in Shanghai, China for a couple years.

Jeff Unsworth, Assistant Center Director

 

Education: Sophomore at Arizona State University studying for a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering and engineering education

I love Mathnasium because: Jeff enjoys the challenging math classes like trigonometry and calculus and loves seeing others overcome challenges to succeed in math and beyond. 

Fun Fact: Jeff adores his two dogs!

 

Morgan, Instructor

Morgan has always really liked math! In kindergarden she was curious about how to subtract 6 from 4, so she had her dad teach her about negative numbers, which blew her mind. She loves that math continues to blow her mind each and every day as she learns more and more.

Education: Senior at Red Mountain High School

Fun Fact: Morgan likes to travel and would love to travel around the world someday (she can name every single country).

 

Victoria, Instructor

Education: Perfect score on the Math SAT

I love Mathnasium because: I like guiding kids to discovery, math is just a puzzle to me and watching everything align is satisfying.

Fun Fact: Victoria is asaving money to go on a denttal humanitarian trip to Tonga.

Education: Studying Engineering and Economics

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Mathematics, with future hopes to get a PhD in Mathematics

I love Mathnasium because: Math is fun because you always get to make new discoveries in the subject.

 

 

 

 

Aviva, Instructor

Aviva has always thoroughly enjoyed math. From math competitions to calculating what speed she needs to (theorhetically) travel to make it to A-hour on time, math has become integrated into her life on a daily basis. Every math problem is a puzzle; there is no right or wrong way to solve it.

Education: Studying Engineering at Mesa Community College

I love Mathnasium because: There is so many different ways to arrive at the right answer in math!

Fun Fact: Jim is fluent in Spanish after studying the language for 5 years through high school.

 

 

Karen Lossing, Owner 

Karen is the owner of Mathnasium of Mesa North as of April 1, 2018. Prior to Mathnasium ownership, Karen worked as a 3rd, 5th, and Special Education teacher, math curriculum writer, and elementary school administrator, focusing on 21st Century learning. Karen is enthusiastic about her team helping children in the Mesa community to truly understand math by teaching it in a way that makes sense to them. Libby, Director of Operations

After a couple years of being a seasonal Mathnasium instructor, Libby graduated from UCLA in March 2017 and has joined onto our team as the Director of Operations. While she is no stranger to the instruction and tutoring aspects of our center, Libby focuses on  community involvement and public relations. Education: Bachelor's Degree from UCLA; graduated high school in Texas
