Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Suchita Desai | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Suchita Desai, Owner/Director Mesa South and Gilbert

Suchita strongly believes that a solid foundation in math is vital for today's children to succeed. She holds two Master’s degrees in Cell/Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. After a several years of research work, she decided to shift her focus to giving back to the community in a different way. She came across Mathnasium and fell in love with the program and what it has to offer students across all grades. She has always loved and excelled in math and now, through the Mathnasium method, enjoys helping kids learn to overcome their fear and love math. She currently resides in the Valley with her family and two wonderful kids. Suchita and the Mathnasium of Mesa South team are thrilled to bring their passion to Mathnasium, helping children succeed in math in a way that makes sense to them! 

Favorite Math Joke: 3 out of 2 people have trouble with fractions.

Jessica | Assistant Center Director | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Jessica, Assistant Center Director

Jessica is currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry from ASU. Prior to working at Mathnasium, she worked as an Instructional Assistant for a middle school math and science classes. She also worked as a long-term substitute for Biology and Chemistry high school class. She love working one on one with students and being able to witness the "Ah-ha" moment when difficult concepts makes sense. She has a small family, her parents and an older brother, but plenty of pets. 

Favorite Math Joke: Parallel lines have so much in common... it's a shame they'll never meet.

Fun Facts: All together Jessica and her family has 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits, 2 snakes and 1 Betta fish named Phillip. She spends her free time constructing cosplay and props from her favorite movies and video games.

Maddy | Assistant Center Director | Mathnasium of Mesa SouthMaddy, Assistant Center Director

Maddy recently graduated from Baylor University with BBAs in Honors Business, Management, and Entrepreneurship, along with a minor in English. She has worked in a variety of capacities, from private nannying to assisting in a child-development studies center, homeschooling, tutoring chemistry and pre-algebra, receptionist positions, and marketing software management. Maddy is one of six children in the family, ranging in age from 7 to 24. With little brothers and sisters not far away in California, Maddy is passionate about children, learning, and setting little ones up for success. 

Favorite Math Joke: Bob has 36 candy bars. He eats 29. What does Bob have now? “Diabetes. Bob has diabetes.”

Fun Facts: Maddy spends her mornings at school, and spends her free time hanging with roommates and laughing at her Wiener Dog, Pippa. She loves BBC, English accents, mysteries, and the occasional super-hero story. 

Kyle, Instructor

Kyle is currently attending Mesa Community College. He has always loved Math even though he wasn't best at it in his early years of school. He loves helping other students and continues to help many every year with their math homework. He is excited when he sees students face light up when they get the right answer and understand how they got it. Kyle's family is always asking him ti help them with any little Math question and he loves helping them.

Favorite Math Joke: √-1 2^3 ∑pi

Fun Facts: I am second oldest of my siblings. I was in marching band for 4 years. I can solve a Rubik's cube.

Maali | Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa SouthMaali, Instructor 

Maali is currently a business major student at Grand Canyon University. Alongside being a student, she has been a math tutor since high school. She is passionate about being an instructor at Mathnasium because it's an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students while teaching something she loves! While math is awesome, one of my biggest passions is art and photography which I do in my spare time. 

Favorite Math Joke: Why do plants hate math? Because it gives them square roots.

Fun Facts: I was born in Mesa, Arizona but have lived in Puerto Rico, Florida and Colorado. I love anything chocolate, but dislike everything nutty. I have 2 dogs, a pug and a chug, and I wish I could have more.

Jesse | Math Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa SouthJesse, Instructor

Jesse is an Engineering student at Arizona State University's Polutechnic Campus working on both his Bachelor's and Master's degree concurrently. His passion for math took off in his last year of high school thanks to two amazing teachers and since then has believed that the proper presentation is the only thing keeping people from kindling a joy for math of their own.

Fun Facts: When not studying, he can be found gaming, toying with equations, or both!

Cassidy | Math Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Cassidy, Instructor

Cassidy is currently a Senior High School. She has been a private swim lessons instructor, nanny and a babysitter. She is passionate about being an instructor at Mathnasium because she loves math and thinks it is incredibly important to understand the concepts for overall growth.

Fun Facts: Cassidy has two siblings, love learning and is planning to become a Nurse Practitioner. She plans to attend BYU.
