With her extensive experience with math tutoring and the Mathnasium MethodTM, she is happy to be able the serve the needs of the Milpitas community.

Becky  Hillmann

Lead Instructor

Becky graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. She worked as a software engineer, before deciding to stay home and raise a family. Several family moves led Becky to many years of home-teaching where she realized she loved working with children. She has also worked with children in both summer camp and youth group settings. She looks forward to working with children as they build their math skills, and encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Hai Tran

Instructor

Hai graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in molecular and cell biology.  Having been a teaching assistant for math classes in high school as well as a biology lab course in college, he enjoys figuring out how to help students learn in ways they can easily understand.  Hai struggled in math at a young age but made a remarkable turn-around towards the end of middle school.  In high school, math became his favorite subject mainly due to the teaching methods of his teachers.  He knows that no matter how much a student dislikes doing math, there must be a way to teach it for them to enjoy learning about it.  In the future, Hai plans to pursue a health career as a physician's assistant.

Jessica Truong

Instructor

Jessica graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Nutritional Science and Physiology. Although she majored in science, she has always enjoyed math and the challenges it presents. In college she got the opportunity to teach kids about ocean science at a local museum. There, she discovered how much fun it was working with kids and how rewarding it was to inspire them. She now hopes to spread a passion for learning in order to help students excel in their future. She likes working with all the different students at the Mathnasium and wants to help them understand and enjoy math as much as she does.

Anna Chiang

Instructor

Anna is a student majoring in Health Science at San Jose State University. Before working at Mathnasium, she volunteered as a math tutor at the Milpitas Library as well as elementary schools throughout the Milpitas Unified School District. Through her volunteer experience, she has found that she truly enjoys working with children and is working towards becoming a pediatrician in the future. She looks forward to meeting and working with the students at Mathnasium.

Thea Ednave

Instructor

Thea is a recent graduate from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences Systems Physiology and a minor in Chemistry.
