Math Tutor / Instructor - Part Time

Position Description & Responsibilities
Our Math Learning Center is seeking qualified mathematics instructors for tutoring children in grades K-12. The key areas of responsibilities include:

-Tutor students in middle and high school on advanced math subjects
-Work closely with students to help them achieve their goals
-Communicate progress with parents
-Learn and utilize our teaching methods to work with students to strengthen skills
-Support the center across education needs, operations, parent communication, sales and marketing
-Ensure the center is presentable and clean, and makes a positive impression on anyone


Qualifications & Requirements
These individuals will possess the following qualifications and requirements:
-College graduate or student excelled in math courses.
-Passion for math, and strong math skills
-Prior teaching or tutoring experience
-Passion for working with kids ages 6 - 17
-Excellent communication skills
-Superb organizational skills
-Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace environment.
-Possess exemplary character and have strong leadership presence

Hours may vary, but must be available to work mid-afternoon through early evening hours, Monday -Friday, & Saturday morning approximately 15-20 hours per week (flexible). We are looking for long term commitment. We offer a great work environment, competitive pay and an bonus program.

Lead Math Instructor - Part Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Math Learning Center is seeking a qualified Lead Math Instructor. This is an ideal position for a person desiring a long term position to utilize their strong Math, teaching, and leadership skills in a fun and rewarding learning environment. 

Must have prior tutoring or teaching experience in Math at all levels, live in San Diego, and be able to accommodate after school hours Monday - Friday and Saturday (early afternoon to evening). 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mentors tutoring staff: recruit and continuously provide training to develop their skills in teaching math skills in most effective means to students
• Ensure the daily care of every student by following up with students and ensuring instructors are providing the right instruction
• Working closely with center coordinator on ensure that student learning plans are updated and monitor weekly progress of students
• Instruct/teach students during peak times and support other instructors
• Support students quiz/test prep activities
• Ensures that center procedures are being followed by all center personnel

QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans
• Four-year college degree required in mathematics or teaching
• 2-3 years working experience as lead instructor or tutor.
• Prior experience with managing and training people
• Excellent communication & organizational skills
• Excellent office management skills including Microsoft Office
• Excellent leadership, people management and customer service skills
• Ability to be take initiative and learn quickly on the job
• Provide thought leadership in developing/enhancing center processes
• Strong work ethic, punctual, detail oriented, and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task

Learning Center Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Math Learning Center is seeking a qualified Center Coordinator for managing the day to day operations of the center. This is a long term opportunity for a person desiring a position to utilize administrative, and leadership skills in a fun and rewarding learning environment. 

Must have successful customer service and prior office working experience, live in San Diego, and be able to accommodate after school hours Monday - Friday and Saturday (early afternoon to evening). 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the front desk and communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and students via email, phone calls and face to face interactions.
• Assisting students with check-in, check-out process
• Assigning students to instructors
• Preparing, printing and updating student learning binders 
• Creating and printing student test packets
• Assessing new students on math skills using our methods
• Using answer keys to correct student worksheets
• Walk around center and assist instructors as needed with grading
• Tutor students in grades K-6 during center peak times
• Monitor students break time, noise control and enforce center policies
• Schedule parent appointments via email
• Take weekly inventory of center supplies
• Assist with daily cleaning/closing center tasks
• Assist Center Director with weekly ad-hoc projects and tasks
• Ensure the center is presentable and clean, and makes a positive impression on anyone

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Prior teaching experience in math to students in grades K-6
• Prior experience working with kids
• Prior experience with sales and customer service
• Excellent communication & organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace environment
• Excellent PC and MS Office skills
• Strong work ethic, punctual, detail oriented and reliable

Hours may vary 4-5 hours a day, but must be available to work mid-afternoon through early evening hours, Monday - Friday and Saturday from 9AM - NOON.
