Meet the Team at Mathnasium of North Dallas

Trina McMillin

Trina has moved from instructor to assistant center director. Retired from the health care field, she has many accomplishments. She has won numerous awards in the art world including the Texas & Neighbors multi-state art competition. She has illustrated a children's book, painted murals in Texas, a dance studio and a school gymnasium. She graduated Valedictorian from the art school and had perfect attendance. Her artwork has been shown in art galleries all over. She had a painting hanging in the Texas state capital. From the world of art, she moved on to pursue a career in nursing including hospice and private nursing. She comes to us as a person who is excited to work with children and has their best interest at heart. Trina's favorite number is 33 because it was the number she had for every sport she played.

Ben Schrag

Lea Carney

Lea comes to us after a career in military logistics for 37 years. She has traveled the world and worked with military missions and special forces. At the center, she is busy answering phones, checking students in and out, helping them with the prize cabinet and anything else that the instructors need. She is an avid college sports fan and holds several state records in Louisiana from her high school sports career. She was the first girl to letter in four sports all four years of high school. Her favorite team is LSU and her favorite quarterback is Joe Burrow. Her favorite number is 8 because it has always been lucky for her.

Linda Blasnik

Linda graduated valedictorian from Haddon Township High School. She then went on to graduate from Princeton University with a degree in Urban Planning. She works part-time at Tycher Library as a librarian. She and her husband raised two daughters. Linda also writes book reviews for publication and has recorded two songs on iTunes. She also has an associates degree in Journalism. Linda once sang "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Her hobbies include singing, songwriting, playing piano, swimming, Tai Chi and Zumba. Her favorite number is Pi because she likes pie.

Jordan Smith

Jordan is a graduate of St. Mark's School of Texas. He continued his education at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in English. He is a certified teacher in the state of Texas and taught high school for 8 years. He also coached a Nationals Debate team. He is a freelance writer and sports card vendor. Jordan enjoys sports card collecting and trading, bicycling, painting, drawing and reading. His favorite number is 32 because his favorite basketball player, Shaquille O'Neal, wore that number. Jordan is also the Dog-Father of a chocolate lab name Ruthie P. Brown.

Nichelle Rodriguez

Nichelle graduated from South Oak Cliff /Science & Engineering Magnet High School. She continued her education at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. She is currently attending graduate school at Lamar University. Nichelle's most significant accomplishment was teaching for 29 years in an elementary school setting in grades 3-6. She is also a newly, retired teacher as of November 2021. Nichelle loves loves completing any type of arts and crafts such as crocheting, diamond art, and knitting. She also loves watching all kinds of movies, old black and whites and binging on Netflix and Prime Video series such as The Expanse or Stranger Things. Her favorite number is any Palindrome because she finds them fascinating and entertaining. She always looks for them in the real world. Nichelle owns two extremely cute dogs named Blanca and Reina. She plans to graduate from Lamar University in two years or less with a Masters of Public Health.

Jessica Shrock

Jessica began at Mathnasium of North Dallas as our First Steps instructor and is now on the floor as an instructor. She graduated from All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from UT Tyler. She has been a college tutor in math, and tutored children at a family owned center with her parents. Her parents are both retired teachers and started the business in 2005. Her mother was an English teacher for 32 years and her father is a retired math teacher. Jessica has been a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority since 2013. Her hobbies include baking, writing fiction stories, reading, especially horror related books, and being a cat mom of two. Her favorite number is 4 because it is Beyonce's favorite number and she has been a fan since 2000. Jessica will use any excuse to bake! Just Ask!
