Joseph Zhou

Owner
Joseph is the Owner at Mathnasium of Northern Silver Spring. Prior to opening his Mathnasium center, Joseph was a Research Faculty with University of Maryland, College Park, specializing in Network Security. He has a MS from A. James Clark School of Engineering in Civil & Environmental Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park. Having struggled with math as a child, Joseph is enthusiastic about helping every child in local community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. He has taught and tutored children of all ages, and he is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community.

Stella Zhang

Center Director
Stella has an MBA from Smith School of Business and a BS in Decision Information & Technology from University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to opening her Mathnasium center, Stella spent over 15 years in several consulting, IT and business management roles with Verizon, CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Booz Allen. In her career, Stella found the problem solving and analytical skills she developed through her Math education to be the foundation for her success. She hopes to influence and enrich the lives of children through nurturing a passion and appreciation for Math. Stella has a true passion for teaching and love for working with children. She is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community to build a rock solid mathematical foundation that leads to confidence and success in all aspects of life.
