Our Team

Peter earned a Bachelors degree from California State University, Fresno and has a Single Subject CLAD teaching credential from National University. He taught at Duncan Polytechnical High School and Cooper Middle School. Along with classroom experience, Peter has had many years of experience working with children coaching basketball and other sports at the elementary and middle school levels. Prior to teaching, Peter was in the restaurant business where he operated both as an owner of his own business and in upper level management for two different national chains. When Peter learned of Mathnasium and began to research the business, he immediately realized that this would be a perfect fit for him with the ability to mix both his educational and business experiences.

Karin has a Bachelors degree in business (finance) from the University of Washington and received her Multiple Subject and Single Subject - Foundational Level Math teaching credentials through California State University, Fresno. She has worked with children of different ages in a variety of settings, from volunteering in Sunday school programs to private tutoring to teaching in the classroom. Prior to teaching, Karin was in the investment industry where she worked as a quantitative analyst for a hedge fund firm in Seattle. When Karin learned about Mathnasium, she was excited for the opportunity to mix her heart for children and education with her business background. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, playing the piano, and traveling with her husband.

Matt has worked at Mathnasium since November of 2007. Born and raised in Fresno, Matt graduated from hoover High School in May of 2003. He attended Willow International Center before transferring to CSU Fresno where he earned an A.S. in Mathematics. More recently, he has completed all the coursework to obtain a single subject credential in Mathematics. Matt is currently seeking employment as a secondary school teacher.

Nicole has lived in Fresno her entire life. She attended Hoover High School and graduated as Valedictorian. Currently a Junior at CSU Fresno, she is majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Deaf Education. After completing her degree, Nicole wants to become a junior high or high school math teacher and show students that math can be fun!

Lou lived and attended school in Fresno for ten years before she moved to Stockton, where she graduated from Bear Creek High School. She attended San Joaquin Delta Community College before transferring to California State University of Fresno. Lou graduated from CSU Fresno with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. She is currently working towards a teaching credential and hopes to teach in Fresno, while pursuing her Masters degree in Mathematics. In her spare time, Lou likes to do arts and crafts and volunteer in activities directed by the Hmong Student Association at Fresno State.
