Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Cindy Ludewick

Assistant Center Director
Cindy is a retired elementary school teacher. She was a teacher at Union Public Schools, in Tulsa, for 29 years and though she has experience teaching all subjects, she taught only 5th grade math for the last 10 years. She considers herself a "word" person (she loves to tell and write stories), but by teaching only math for all of those years, she has learned to absolutely love math! Cindy lives in Owasso with her husband and a cat named Merlin. She is also an active member of Meadowcreek, UMC in Collinsville. Reading, writing, and traveling are just a few of the things she enjoys doing in her spare time.

Christine

Instructor
Christine is an instructor in Tulsa Tech's Pre-Engineering program. Previously, she taught advanced math classes at Owasso High School for eleven years. Christine graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a degree in chemical engineering. After working for a time in the engineering consulting business, she discovered her true love... teaching! Christine and her husband have two sons and have lived in Owasso for the past 13 years. When she’s not doing math-y things, Christine enjoys reading, crafting, working in her yard, and volunteering at her church.

Joey

Instructor
Joey has taught mathematics in the Tulsa area for the past 30+ years. Originally from Texas, he moved to Tulsa to attend Oral Roberts University. He is actively involved in the Men's Ministry at his church, and he officiates college football in the Great American Conference (NCAA-Div 2). He enjoys camping and hiking with his grandkids. He and his wife Leah spend a great deal of time spoiling their two small dogs, Bonnie & Clyde.

Caleb

Instructor
Caleb is a 2022 Owasso High School Graduate who is double-majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics at The University of Tulsa. During his high school career, math was always the subject in which he excelled. Caleb even participated in a grueling math challenge where he spent almost 14 hours working on just three math problems! Caleb has also been serving at his church as a kid's ministry volunteer since 2016, and he has always had a heart to serve the kids around him. In his spare time, Caleb loves to code, play Sudoku puzzles and video games, and enjoy a bit of reading.

Aline

Instructor
Aline Kelley is a 2018 Owasso High School graduate and a 2021 graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. While having dedicated her studies to French and History, she still wanted a chance to put her love of math to use, so she set her mind to work as an English and Math Tutor in Del City High School for 2 years. While there, she even helped expand the role by emphasizing the collegiate preparatory aspect of her mentorship, helping her cohort navigate the myriad of decisions post secondary education can offer. She delights in reading both historical and fictional accounts of the past and incorporating it into her writing and game making experience.

Rex Schoolcraft

District Manager
Rex is a dynamic educator and versatile leader whose journey through diverse fields has culminated in a passion for mathematics education. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Secondary Education, both through the University of Wyoming. While he started in education as a high school math teacher, Rex was drawn to Mathnasium because our curriculum gives him the words that match the way he thinks about mathematics, and he thrives in an environment that is able to help thousands of kids each and every day. Outside of the center, Rex loves to read, pick at the guitar, and play simulation games on the computer. He also has a dog who he spoils relentlessly!

Nicki Atwood

Owner, COO
Nicki hails from Baltimore and studied Physics and Chemistry at University of Richmond. While working with students in college, she noticed that many times students are held back because of a gap in their educational foundation and that drew her to Mathnasium’s unique approach. When not at Mathnasium, Nicki loves to visit different cities and hang out with her cat. In fact, she loves pets of all shapes and sizes, and has had many different types of pets, including a dog, a mouse, a rabbit, and even a hedgehog!

James Temple

Owner
James developed a passion for and proficiency with Mathematics during his middle and high school years. In 2000, James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics and a love for solving all types of problems. He took those skills into the United States Air Force where he served for 7 years as an aircraft maintenance officer. It was during these years that James had the opportunity to tutor home schooled children and really started to appreciate the frustration that many kids feel towards Mathematics. James left the Air Force in 2007 to go back to the University of Virginia where he received his Master's of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
