Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Brooks Franklin

Administrative Assistant
Brooks grew up in La Quinta, California, and has previously worked in retail stores and in computer / electronic repair. He joined the Foster City Mathnasium team in early 2018. Starting to work as an instructor, he could very quickly see the impact that Mathnasium had on its students. Towards the end of 2019, he was promoted to an administrative role and with that new perspective, he continued to see the benefits of the Mathnasium program. In addition to this, his new role had allowed multiple opportunities for him to learn new skills and gain experience working with new projects. His favorite parts of the job are organizing data collected from student sessions and creating and optimizing processes to make everyone’s job easier and/or more efficient.

Bryan

Administrative Assistant
Bryan studied Economics at the University of Southern California, but his secret is that his real passion lies in education and analyzing literature. He loves his Mathnasium coworkers and enjoys supporting the moderators in both classrooms. His favorite part of the job is finding the gap in a student’s knowledge and using his skills on the job to fill in that gap. “There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a passing score on a student’s assessment”, he thinks, in a recent moment of introspection. He believes that it is not about what concepts a student gets wrong on a test, it’s about why and how they got it wrong.

Sarah T

Administrative Assistant
Sarah, with a Master's in Management Science and Engineering, combines her love for math and passion for children as an education professional. Guiding young minds, she fosters a positive problem-solving attitude. Believing each child is a gift, she's committed to their exploration and future contribution in society. At Mathnasium, Sarah ensures children thrive with their math abilities. On the weekends you can find her hiking with friends, enjoying nature and camaraderie.

Kayla E

Administrative Assistant
Kayla is a Bay Area native but moved to Utah for university where she studied strategic communication. During her undergraduate studies Kayla enjoyed her math courses in statistics and quantitative research methods. She previously worked as an English as a Second Language tutor where she enjoyed helping her students make progress in their educational goals. At Mathnasium she enjoys seeing students' confidence grow alongside improving their math abilities. In her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her dog and attending concerts.

Ella K

Instructor
Ella has always enjoyed math from a young age. When she was younger, she was a student at Mathnasium, which helped her greatly improve her math confidence and ability. Ella enjoys working at Mathnasium so that she can provide kids with the same support she received as a student. Ella's favorite part of teaching at Mathnasium is watching students discover how fun math can be!

Ani P

Instructor
Ani is a college student studying machine learning. He enjoys witnessing the enthusiasm for math grow among students. In his spare time he enjoys improving his coding skills and playing video games with his friends.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
