Mathnasium Named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s 27th Annual Franchise 500® List
Top Learning Center Ranked 26th on List of Top New Franchises
Los Angeles - January 24, 2006
Mathnasium, the world’s most successful learning center company for math education, announced today it has been named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s 27th Annual Franchise 500® list. The company was ranked 26th on the list of top new franchises and 379th overall. The prestigious Franchise 500® is the world's first, best and most comprehensive ranking of franchises.
With over 80 learning centers and a new location opening every week, Mathnasium is the only learning center company with a proven and independently verified track record of improving students’ math skills. The Mathnasium Method is the result of more than 30 years of in-the-trenches experience from former L.A. school teacher Larry Martinek who serves as the company’s chief instructional officer. The Method emphasizes math understanding over rote memorization so students truly grasp the concepts behind what they are learning.
“The fastest growing area in the franchising business is the children’s segment and we are pleased to be included on this year’s Franchise 500®,” said Peter Markovitz, founder and president of Mathnasium. “We trace our success to our proven curriculum and to the passion our franchisees bring to the great work of helping children learn math.”
Founded by Markovitz and company executive vice president David Ullendorff, Mathnasium serves students in pre-K through 12th grade and is focused solely on math skills. Like at a gym or health club, members pay a low monthly fee and can drop–in anytime.
