Mathnasium Celebrates 100th Location in Just Under Two Years
Fast-Growing Domestic and International Math Learning Center Franchise Marks 100th Center Opening with Sherman Oaks Location
Los Angeles - May 15, 2006
Mathnasium, the world's most successful franchise chain of math learning centers, has opened its 100th center in just under two years, in Sherman Oaks, California. Heralded by parents and students alike as "a better way to teach math," Mathnasium has learning centers all over the United States and in 11 other countries including Canada, Portugal, and Thailand.
The new location is an impressive milestone for a company that has grown from its first franchise to its hundredth location in only two short years and now dominates the educational franchise industry. The combination of a proven educational method with a franchise system that works has fueled Mathnasium's explosive growth - with even more centers opening in the coming months.
"We are thrilled that we are welcoming yet another franchise into the Mathnasium family," said Peter Markovitz, Founder and President of Mathnasium. "Our rapid growth proves that children don't hate math, they hate being confused by it - and parents love our creative way to help. It also shows that our franchise business model is one that works."
First opening its doors in 2004 in West Los Angeles, Mathnasium is the product of an exhaustive search to find the best curriculum and the best franchise business model. The company's goal is to illuminate the globe with the scholastic success children achieve when they are taught math in a way that makes sense to them. The Mathnasium Method was created by former school teacher, Larry Martinek, based on his 30+ years of classroom experience. The success of the business model is attributed to former FutureKids founders, Peter Markovitz and David Ullendorff, and Wharton MBA Mitch Brown - Mathnasium executives who have created a franchise model that offers a near-seamless transition into the world of franchise business ownership.
The grand opening ceremony celebrating Mathnasium's 100th center will take place on May 24th at the Sherman Oaks center.
