Our Team

Rick & Jeanie Davis, Center Director
Rick holds both a BS and an MBA from the University of Utah. He has worked for 25 years in the high tech industry, mostly with Intel Corporation. He has a well diversified background having managed manufacturing, engineering and construction functions. Rick is excited to be involved with Mathnasium as he has seen a real need for improved math skills in his work in the high tech industry. Additionally, he has many years of experience working with and teaching kids of all ages in community and church related activities. The curriculum offered by Mathnasium and the approach to teaching and learning struck a chord with Rick’s own feelings about how to work with youth in a critical area of their education. Jeanie has a tremendous love for children of all ages and is excited about the opportunity to hold "extra curricular" activities with the students (playing games and holding movie nights are two of her current favorites!) Rick and his wife Jeanie have four wonderful daughters, two of whom work with them in the center (Kiera is pictured here with them), three sons (by way of marriage to their daughters) and five grandchildren.
Amy Sanchez, Assistant Center Director
Math has always come easily to Amy, having worked through two years of calculus at Mesquite High School. She's completed pre-reqs for a nursing degree at Chandler Gilbert CC and BYU-Idaho. She's awaiting acceptance into the nursing college and loves working with kids on their math skills in the meantime! When she's not helping students with their math, she is handling most of the administrative activity in keeping the center running!
Devin Miller, Lead Instructor
Devin graduated Cum Laude from Ottowa University with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Secondary Education Math. He has taught math previously at Williams Field High and currently teaches Geometry and Algebra at the new Poston Butte High School in Queen Creek (San Tan Valley). Devin is also on the coaching staff at Poston Butte for the wrestling team. Devin loves teaching, the outdoors and enjoys cooking!
Sarah McManus, Instructor
Sarah graduated with high distinction from the University of Michigan with a degree in Secondary Math Education. She teaches Algebra and Geometry at Queen Creek High School, some of her current and former students enjoy seeing her outside of the classroom! She coaches the long jump and assists with the sprinters for the Queen Creek High Track team.
Brandon Lilly, Instructor
Brandon graduated from Highland High School and is now on the path to becoming an Engineer by taking vigorous classes at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Math has always come very easily to Brandon and he can take on teaching Pre-calculus and Calculus without a problem!
Luis Gonzalez, Instructor
Luis is with us for a short term while he is preparing to leave to the San Francisco/Oakland area in California to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He has taken math classes all the way up to a Calculus 2 level and enjoys it very much. He also loves getting the chance to work with kids and help them on their path of success.
Kiera Ethington, Instructor
Kiera is Rick and Jeanie's second daughter. She has completed her Associates Degree at Chandler Gilbert and is currently very busy with two little boys. In addition to working with many of the younger students, Kiera also handles many of the administrative tasks of running the center.
Ashlyn Bishop, Instructor
Ashlyn is Rick and Jeanie's youngest daughter. She graduated from Gilbert High School with honors and is currently attending ASU with plans to go into a nursing career. She's pictured here with her mother, Jeanie!
Maggie Rundle, Instructor
Maggie is currently attending ASU, working towards a degree in Elementary Education. She loves working with kids and will most certainly be one of the most "math" qualified Elementary School teachers around!
Morgan Matsen, Instructor
Morgan is currently a senior at Gilbert High School, thoroughly enjoying her AP Calculus Class! She is also the Senior Class President and very busy. Morgan plans to attend BYU next year and has decided that she wants to pursue a math major with the intent to teach at the High School level!
Nate Evans, Instructor
Nate is another AP Calc student at one of the local schools. He is a Senior at Queen Creek High. Nate is currently at NAU to eventually go into their nursing program and may come back during his breaks.
