Our Team

Carl earned a BA and an MBA from the University of Chicago and completed a Master of Science in Mathematics from CSUSM in 2010. He worked as an executive in the biotechnology industry before retiring. Carl had been teaching entry level math at CSUSM for the past several years. Although his students were bright, too many were missing the basic prerequisite skills to succeed in college. He feels that Mathnasium will enable him to have a far greater impact upon the math skills of his students.

Sara has a BA in psychology from Benedictine College, Atchison, KS, and an MBA from Rockhurst College, Kansas City, MO. After graduating, she worked in a hospital personnel department where she was responsible for benefits administration and managed an employee incentive program. Sara spent years as a volunteer, involved in her children’s schools, fundraising and organizing events. Carl and Sara look forward to bringing the benefits of the Mathnasium method to the students of North County San Diego, where they have lived for 17 years and raised their 3 now grown children.
