Kelsie Bui

Hi! My name is Kelsie. I'm currently studying quantitative economics in university and hope to use my math skills for risk analysis in the future. I grew up thinking math was my least favorite subject, but one day I realized I actually have a talent and passion for it! Besides math, I like video games, art, reading, and nature.

David Nguyen

I'm a college graduate from UCI who majored in physics with a specialization in Astrophysics My dream career is to be a high school physics teacher and help students love math and science on a deeper level. I have always had a love for Math since I was little and I hope to extend that love and understanding to our Mathnasium students. I have worked at this center for a little over a year now.

Keyan Moradi

Instructor
Hello, my name is Keyan, and I’m a physics student at UC Irvine; I’m thinking about specializing in astrophysics. While I don’t have anything specific that would qualify as my “dream job” at the moment, I’ve always enjoyed working with and helping people out in math, physics, and other math-heavy subjects. My hobbies and interests include photography and listening to heavy metal.

Lexie Rauda

Assistant Center Director/Lead Instructor
Hello! My name is Lexie, I am an Assistant Center Director at the center and have been tutoring the Mathnasium method for over 8 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics from UC Irvine and have always had a passion for teaching math. I love the individualized structure at Mathnasium and that I get to work with students of all levels. My favorite part of tutoring is when students get their Aha moment of understanding; math is a subject that a lot of students fear, but once they understand the processes, then many students learn enjoy it. In my free time I am most likely at a concert, on a road trip, or at the beach.

Matthew Kenslow

I have previously earned an Associate of Science in Chemistry from OCC, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from VUSC, a full-math teaching credential, and will earn my Master of Art in Education from VUSC in May 2024. On the side, I enjoy juggling, playing piano, and doing a plethora of "magic" tricks.

Steven Bui

Instructor
Hi, my name is Steven and I'm studying computer science at Orange Coast College. I love math because there is always more to learn and discover. I enjoy teaching math since it is something I am passionate about and something I feel like more people should love. Outside of Mathnasium, I like to play video games, exercise, and go out to eat.

Robert Boullon

Instructor
Hi I'm Robert and I am a recent graduate from UC Santa Barbara! I will be starting a role as an Actuarial Analyst in Spring 2024. I've always loved teaching math and statistics and for a long time wanted to be a math teacher when growing up. My hobbies include playing soccer and volleyball (although my volleyball playing is on pause right now since I broke my arm earlier this year!).

Lori Kim (Retired)

Center Director
I was the Center Director at Mathnasium of South Costa Mesa. Prior to opening the Mathnasium Center, I have worked in finance and commercial real estate. I received my BA in Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley. I started this Mathnasium journey when I first discovered that my second child was struggling in math but didn't want help from her own mother. I enrolled her in a local Mathnasium and found the Mathnasium Method to be critical in my daughter's foundational understanding of math. Witnessing this in my own child I am passionate about teaching other children of all ages how to make math make sense. I believe every child has the ability to be successful in math and would like to extend our program to the community of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
