CenterDirector Lucille Capule, Center Director

Lucille is also the owner and Center Director of Mathnasium of Rancho Penasquitos.  Prior to opening Mathnasium centers, Lucille worked as a Human Resource Executive  of a well known Japanese engineering company in oil & gas industry from various  countries. She is a degree holder in Psychology and had experience in the education  setting prior to her involvement in the corporate world.  After fourteen years in the  corporate, she decided to open up her first Mathnasium center to fill in her passion  to help kids which she missed.  She has seen the fulfillment it brings to have the  opportunity to help kids in the community and further develop and regain their lost  confidence due to difficulties encountered in school.

 Tyler Lopez,  Learning Center Instructor

Tyler is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology and taking up teaching  credentials at Miramar Community College.  Tyler also tutors chemistry in his college.  He has the passion to help others through teaching and tutoring.  Tyler has a very  strong comprehension in mathematics and has strong interest in assisting the youth  in the community. For Tyler, "the best part of working at Mathnasium is seeing that  metaphorical light bulb above a student's head after something you've taught them  clicks in their brain. Their eyes light up and they make it visibly noticeable of  how proud they are of themselves after they finish working on their material with  ease. "

 Maura Mayock,  Learning Center Instructor

Maura graduated from Western Washington University where she became proficient  in math up through differential equations and statistics while earning a Bachelor of  Science in  Geophysics.  She finds the most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing  students learn  to do hard things and knowing that gaining the ability to overcome  challenges will  help them in every area of their lives.  For Maura: "....The best part of  working at  Mathnasium is that I have fun at my job every single day!"

 John Barnes,  Learning Center Instructor

John graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from California State  University San  Marcos. As a volunteer in 2015 he revived the dormant chess club  program at the  San Marcos branch library and has remained involved in  volunteering with library  youth programs since.  According to John, "instructing so  many different students  every day emphasizes their differences in learning style and  personality. Navigating  the balance between giving a gentle nudge to a student  who is close to figuring  things out on their own and knowing when to throw out a  life preserver is always on  my mind.  Seeing them reach an "oh!" conclusion  moments after telling me they  need help and I've only asked them a simple question in response is always  satisfying."

 Sky Kadakia,  Learning Center Instructor

Shailesh - affectionately called by the students as Sky, graduated from the University of  Texas, Austin with a Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  Sky has  been teaching math for the past three (3) years at other Mathnasiums (Carlsbad and  San  Marcos).  He enjoys teaching Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus to  students  of Middle School and High School levels.  At Mathnasium, there are ample of  opportunities to teach kids as well as mature students.  For Sky: " As an instructor, it  helps  when you breakdown problems in simple operations and in coversation mix  real life examples while teaching.  The best part of working at Mathnasium is you meet  lots of students who possess different levels of skills and therefore post special challenges for coaching them. "  One of Sky's natural strength is to partition complex problems and explain their solutions to students by using elementary concepts.  He gets satisfaction when students apply the skills and tools he introduced to solve sophisticated problems in Mathematics and Science.  Outside Mathnasium, Sky has authored and published books about Light wave physics and Astronomy.
