Our Team

Lakshmi Jagarlamudi, Director
Lakshmi has a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science from India, and a second Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. While working with a non-profit organization and tutoring middle school students in math, Lakshmi became aware of the achievement gap that exists among school age children and how schools are not able to help every individual overcome the obstacles that keep them from progressing and enjoying math. Lakshmi’s father, who is her role model and guide, is a teacher by profession, and has inspired her to follow in his footsteps. She was attracted to Mathnasium because of the difference she can make in a child's life and the chance to inspire them. She has observed that many kids are intimidated and afraid of math and she looks forward to the opportunity to help the children in her community learn to love numbers and math as she does. Lakshmi feels blessed with a wonderful family and enjoys spending time with them and doing crosswords and sudoku puzzles in her spare time.
Monique Messman, Assistant Director
Monique graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where she received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She enjoys working with students to help them gain a better understanding of math. Monique works as a contract engineer and enjoys being part of the Mathnasium team. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs, reading, and fishing. Her future goals include attending graduate school and designing toys.
Matthew Scheible, Instructor
Matthew is a junior studying at St. Edwards University. He enjoys working with students to encourage them to view math as a exciting subject, rather than a chore. Matthew has plans to graduate and enter graduate school in order to study brain development. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing short stories, and hiking.
Zain Maneshia, Instructor
Zain is currently a freshman pursuing a double-major in Pre- Physical Therapy and Islamic Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Zain plans on becoming a certified physical therapist. He really enjoys working with the students at Mathnasium because he believes that Math is much more than just a bunch of boring numbers and wants the students to feel the same way. Outside of Mathnasium, Zain is the quarterback of an Austin based flag football team called the Austin Aces. He enjoys scary movies and books, playing chess and cooking in his spare time.
