In addition to private tutoring for elementary, middle and high school students (studying mathematics through AP Calculus and Statistics), we offer several programs aligned to the student's current grade, academic needs and personal goals:
- Our CurriculumPlus Membership helps elementary, middle and high school students to fill in gaps, build a strong mathematical foundation, and develop mathematical fluency to provide them with the skills and self-confidence necessary for a lifetime of success.
- Through one-to-one instruction using our own proprietary curriculum, we assess and enrich mathematical learning for each CurriculumPlus member to address specific knowledge gaps from prior math topics and previous school years. Depending the member's present mathematical knowledge, we rebuild and then advance his or her mathematical foundation to provide the skills and self-confidence needed to succeed.
- Although not the focus of the program, our CurriculumPlus members may also use a portion of each session to get help with current schoolwork and test preparation.
- CurriculumPlus membership costs vary by student age/grade level and range from $20-30 per session.
- CurriculumPlus membership hours vary by center and are listed under the SCHEDULE tab (left).
- Our TutoringPlus Membership provides convenient, professional assistance with tonight's homework, tomorrow's test and next week's exam for high school students who are studying Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, or Statistics, and who are already proficient with mathematics through Algebra I.
- In contrast to the foundational and skills-based emphasis of our CurriculumPlus membership, our TutoringPlus membership assumes the student has a solid foundation in algebraic math and is seeking only immediate and regular academic support to do his/her very best in high school.
- TutoringPlus membership costs vary by student's desired attendance frequency and range from $25-50 per hour.
- TutoringPlus sessions times are offered on all school nights as well as Saturday midday, and are split between our Summit and Chatham centers as noted under the SCHEDULE tab (left).
For both our CurriculumPlus and TutoringPlus memberships, we do not teach to groups or provide classes. Instead, all instruction is presented one-on-one, in a group setting, with time provided for independent practice. In contrast to our TutoringPlus memberships that follow the daily academic needs of our members, each CurriculumPlus member follows a customized learning plan that is based upon recurring assessments and tailored to his/her specific needs over time.
- To excite learning for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First Grade students, and provide a sound footing for their future math-related studies, our First Steps Program in Chatham and Summit explores math’s diverse relationships within the world around us.
- First Steps prepares your child for a lifelong love of math. Just as reading to a young child is critical to language development, First Steps will help your child to explore foundational skills and concepts of mathematics from an early age.
- Rather than focusing exclusively on number facts, our First Steps program explores the math-related patterns that surround us and the logical thinking needed to classify and quantify these patterns.
- We use a variety of hands-on materials, literature, song, games and activities to promote early mathematical thinking and spacial reasoning with concepts such as ATTRIBUTES, CLASSIFICATION, PATTERNING, ORDERING, NUMERATION, SPACIAL RELATIONSHIPS and MEASUREMENT being explored in a small group setting (consisting of 4-5 students of similar age and abilities). >> Click here to learn more about First Steps. <<
- Our First Steps program is typically offered during the summer; please contact our centers at 973-377-6284 to inquire about class availability and scheduling.
