Our Team

Felix holds a BS degree in business administration and accounting from Cal State Northridge University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He also holds teaching credentials, which were obtained from California Community College.

After spending several years as a controller, VP of finance, owning an accounting practice and teaching accounting, finance, and international accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate level; Felix is excited to be able to offer his love for education and math sense to the community of Sunset Miami. He realized that the most enjoyable and rewarding highlights of his professional career came from his time spent teaching and he is pleased to be joining Mathnasium along with his wife, Renee. Felix and Renee moved to the Miami area three years ago and he enjoys sports, boating and animals.

Renee hails from Michigan, where she attended Michigan State University and received her BS in computer science. She holds an MBA from USC in California, and received her teaching credentials from Mount St. Mary’s College. Renee most recently has been a certified middle school math teacher in Miami. She previously worked as a satellite mission planner for Boeing, a software programmer/developer for Xerox, and at Hughes Aircraft and GM. After her extensive business career, she began her education career by teaching middle school math and science in California.

Renee has a passion for math and can’t wait to help the next generation of leaders become the best at math computation that they can be. She firmly believes that the world needs more mathematical thinkers and great problem solvers and she is ecstatic to be able to provide that foundation for the students in Sunset Miami.

In her spare time Renee enjoys sports and animals, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, and even turtles. She and Felix have two grown sons living in California and their youngest son can be found sharpening his math skills at Mathnasium.
