Joe Prochnow, Assistant Director & Lead Instructor
Joe is a graduate from James Madison University with a bachelors of science in applied mathematics. He started working at Mathnasium of Reston in 2006 and has since switched to Mathnasium of Tysons. During the day he can often be found in Fairfax County Public School as a substitute teacher. He took a long term substitute assignment as a geometry teacher in 2008 and substitutes for secondary level math classes currently. In his spare time, Joe has been taking actuarial exams. He has passed a probability and statistical exam, and is studying for a financial mathematics exam for 2010. Outside of work, Joe enjoys watching, playing, and coaching sports. He is devoted to his family, and especially his new dog.
A. Bellaachia (Bell), Curriculum Director
Bell has over 20 years of teaching experience. He has been interested in teaching others since he was a kid. He began tutoring Math in high school at the age of 15. Bell earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. He has taught Math for several years and is experienced in curriculum planning and development

Bell brings an expertise to the teaching side of Mathnasium of Tysons. He has very strong knowledge and skills in teaching mathematics.

Bell is looking forward to bringing his students' potential to the maximum and offering them the opportunity to experience the fun of math and develop successful problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Kristin Wiley, Lead Instructor
Kristin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Radford University where she was selected for membership in Kappa Delta Pi-the Honor Society for Education. She is currently studying Educational Leadership in Mathematics at George Mason University to become a certified math specialist. In addition to working as a classroom teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools for the past six years, Kristin collaborates with other teachers to refine their mathematics instruction. Kristin joined Mathnasium because she enjoys working with students to think beyond algorithms to develop a deeper understanding of math concepts.
