When my son finished 7th grade a year ago, he lacked confidence in his ability to “do” math and was missing some key math skills. We decided to pursue tutoring over the summer and chose Mathnasium based on its personalized approach geared specifically to the gaps in each student’s knowledge as measured by the results of an assessment test. His improvement over the summer was such that we opted to continue during the school year as a supplement to his classroom instruction. In addition, he had aspirations to be admitted to an independent high school; admissions are based in part on scores on the SSAT test. He worked hard with the instructors at Mathnasium, scored well on his SSAT test, and was subsequently admitted to the independent high school of his choice. A full year since we first visited with Charlie, my son continues to work with Mathnasium over a second summer in the interest of being well-prepared for his freshman year in the fall.

My daughter loves the Mathnasium program. I have noticed great results this year with her math studies. She has gone from struggling with math to being in a top math class. The instructors take time out to explain concepts that truly resonate with her. Just wanted to let you know that Lily's MAP testing went from the 67th percentile in Spring of 2nd grade to the 90th percentile in the Fall of 3rd grade. So it looks like all the help you gave her over the summer paid off! When I went for her parent-teacher conference, I was given the feedback that my daughter is at the top of her class in the "middle" math group, and they have been pulling her out for some enrichment similar to what the kids in the higher math group get. Also, she was the first one to pass all her multiplication table tests, which is a miracle considering how much she used to fight me.
In any case, thanks for all of your help! I know she would not be keeping up if we didn't have her at Mathnasium. I think the summer really, really helped her get the fundamentals she needed to be able to keep up this year, and the extra help she has gotten during the school year is invaluable!

Our three children, Oliver, Arlo and Greta, attend Mathnasium. All three are at different levels in their math knowledge and we are so impressed that each child gets unique attention to their needs during their sessions. In their six months of attendance, we have seen each child grow in their math knowledge and their grades prove it. Our kids love going and are always asking, "Is it time to go yet?" And when we pick them up, they are so excited about what they have learned. They love the instructors!

My 8th grade daughter has been going to Mathnasium for about 4 months. Her grades have gone from a low C to an A! Her friends are calling after school for math help!
